“I love the food, and the vibe and service were great. But for an average sized branzino, I didn’t expect to pay $68. Everywhere else in NYC, branzino typically costs around $36–$42 max.

The beans were great. The fried cheese was salty but good. We wanted the zucchini chips but was offered the fritters. They were not great but we didn't bother switching them out. I think we would go back to try other dishes but only on occasion as the bill was $145 with a good tip.“

“Really enjoyed the takeout I ordered for delivery. The Royal Greens Salads are huge!!! I would say they're twice as big as other salads chains. I wish it was easier though to know the dietary info for the salad dressings as I could not tell which ones were vegan. I love that you can choose your own protein and swap some of the toppings or build your own. I also got the green tofu curry dish from SriPraPhai as well. The sauce was incredibly flavor and I liked the amount of kick it had. It was spicy but not too spicy for me atleast. I do wish it had more tofu in it though as it felt very sauce heavy. I would order takeout from here again especially if I was getting food with someone who wanted something different then me. I appreciate the free delivery and the amazing portion sizes. It's nice to be able to order multiple cuisines as well.“

“We ordered assorted gyros, souvlaki, tacos and baklava. The staff was friendly and the service was wonderful. Over all decent and accommodating to the greek culture with a twist of spanish. Only thing I would change is to add oragano salt and pepper to the gyros and don't blend the tzatziki makes it a bit pasty in texture but flavor was 7/10. The baklava less refrigerated time and more syrup not leaving the tops so dry. Would visit again.“

I had an incredible experience at Plateia GR! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with friendly smiles and a cozy, welcoming atmosphere that immediately set the tone for the evening.

“I live close by so I’ve been here a lot. It’s extremely consistent and very very good. Prices have gone up several times over the years but it remains a good deal for the quality and portion. And because I live close, I see how thoroughly they clean each night. Great lunch specials.“

“I honestly don’t know how it has taken me this long to write a review for Gyro King. I could have sworn I already did. I’ve been coming here since high school, and we are NOT going to discuss how many years ago that was as a tear slowly rolls down my cheek. 😂

The best part? One of the same guys is still working here after all these years and actually remembers me. I love that!

Gyro King is a true Bronx staple. If you’ve never been, get up and go. It’s conveniently located about a block from the 4 train at Fordham Road.

Now, if you’re driving, welcome to Fordham Road. Parking can be a mission. Somehow, I almost always manage to find a spot right outside. At this point, I’m convinced it’s fate.

Inside is pretty tight, but it’s well lit and has a long counter where you place your order, grab your food, pay, and keep it moving. There are also a few tables and chairs outside if you want to sit and eat.

The menu is HUGE. They have just about everything you could imagine. On this visit, I grabbed the Gyro Platter, Beef Shish Kebab, French fries, and a few slices of their Gyro Pizza.

The Gyro Platter was exactly what I remembered. A huge portion loaded with seasoned lamb gyro meat, lettuce, onions, tzatziki sauce, and pita bread. Filling, flavorful, and a classic for a reason.

The Beef Shish Kebab had a great smoky flavor, although this particular order was a little fattier and chewier than I would have preferred. The flavor was definitely still there, but the texture could have been better.

Now let’s talk about one of their newer creations, Gyro Pizza. After all these years, somebody decided gyro meat and pizza needed to meet, and whoever made that decision deserves some recognition. 😂

They take a cheese slice, pile seasoned shredded lamb gyro meat on top, and finish it with their creamy tzatziki sauce. It sounds simple, but it WORKS. Savory, cheesy, meaty, creamy, and ridiculously satisfying. I’ve ordered it three times now, and it has been delicious every single time. Definitely give this one a try.

Will I be back? After coming here since high school, I think we already know the answer. Absolutely.

And now they finally take Apple Pay, so I don’t even have to remember to bring cash anymore. Welcome to the future, Gyro King! 😂“
