“What a wonderful place!! We decided to stop you and check it out, and my son and I couldn't have been happier. The owner was a delight and my son absolutely loved the play area. We felt very sage and was able to have a nice time all on one. She also made me a DELICIOUS organic coffee that was unlike anything I've ever had, so delicious. “Had a very relaxing long lunch with a friend. We walked past the food in the display cases as we walked towards the dining room and wanted to try everything! Picked a cozy table by the windows so we could look out at the water as we caught up with each other.We both ordered the lemon chicken soup which was nothing short of perfection. It tasted amazing from the first spoonful to the last. Warm and oh so comforting. Highly recommend this soup.Shared hummus and pita bread which we both enjoyed. My friend ordered a hamburger and I got my favorite salad with the dried cranberries, candied nuts, gorgonzola cheese and balsamic dressing. The salad portion was so big I shared with my friend who loved it!I have been going to the Mediterranean Market since they opened. My friend can't wait to go again the next time she is in town. On the way out she ordered a take out meal for her and her husband for dinner. Loved our afternoon girls lunch.“

Moist and creamy in each bite.Croissant items were good too, but couldn’t beat my first above. Salt butter ones were good choices.Pretzel was a little bit too soft for me, but the fig and nuts cream cheese was delicious.Last but not the least, ? bingsu was amazing..! It was a little bit pricy, but a huge bowl! The milk shaved ice was sooo rich.The only thing I would critique is coffee. Good coffee bean but the cappuccino was not creamy at all. “The croffles here are really good! I really like the blueberry, Oreo, and cherry flavors! They are pretty big and the price is very reasonable! The mochi donuts are ok, I'd rather get a croffle for two more dollars. The space is pretty tight so it can't accommodate large groups unless you go to the outside seating areas. Each time I have gone the staff have been eh, lots of workers scrambling around and not being helpful, but other than that the quality of the croffles out weighs my annoyance with the staff.“

I love their espresso too. 3 stars for service because I had an incident where I was given non gluten free bread once and also cheese when I asked for none as I have both food intolerances which cause massive widespread inflammation for me that can last weeks into months. The person I spoke dealt with did not apologize/seemed annnoyed and it happened both times with her. However, it’s such a rare find to find a place with such good food and GF options for me (coming from the BX) that I wound up going back and it hasn’t happened since. Everyone there knows me now and automatically knows what I order but I just think people need to take food allergies and concerns much more seriously than they do. The plum salad with the citrus beet dressing was amazing. Like so fresh and we couldn’t get enough of that dressing!!! “I found Java Day Cafe while out in Queens this past Monday. I had a few hours to kill in between meetings and was looking for a cafe to WFH. At the owners recommendation, I ordered The Frenchie, as well as two hash browns (hey don't judge, I was starvin marvin!). The Frenchie consisted of 2 pieces of delicious cinnamon french toast with sausage, egg and cheese nestled inside. I washed it down with a delicious large coffee with almond milk. I chose a table by the window, which had 2 outlets below, so I was able plug away on my laptop and enjoy my food, with no low battery stress. I ended up having three coffees during my stint there and lucky for me, their bathroom was super spacious and clean... love that! All in all, happy to have stumbled upon this awesome Flushing/Auburndale gem!“

The self-serve coffee was the usual grade of diner coffee but certainly was not bad. I don't think refills were free as in a real diner, however. The owners went up and beyond to make sure that my vision came through. They were organized in communication and planning. “My Fiance and I have been looking for a place close by that has good, truly authentic Dominican food and Maria did not disappoint! We both got the pernil with rice, beans, and maduros - everything was full of flavor and FRESH. Portions were also more than plenty, we ended up bringing our leftovers home.
