About Cafe Rubio

Cafe Rubio is a restaurant that has received mixed reviews. The food and drinks have been praised by some customers as delicious and "finger-licking" good, especially the Mofongo with shrimp, which received high praise. The restaurant offers a lively atmosphere with live music on Sundays, creating an enjoyable experience for regular visitors. The decor and ambiance are described as beautiful, enhancing the overall dining environment.

Customer service has been highlighted as a strength, with attentive and friendly servers like Luisa, who was praised for being kind and attentive. However, some customers have experienced less positive service, with some servers being not as nice or standoffish. The food has received both positive and negative comments; while dishes like the skirt steak, goat stew, chicken croquets, chimi sandwich, fried chicken, and alfredo pasta have been called outstanding, others found certain meals, such as lamb chops, to be bland and lacking seasoning.

The restaurant also transforms into a club at night, with high-price admission and bottle service, providing a fun nightlife experience. There have been some issues with drink orders, including incidents where drinks like virgin piña coladas with alcohol were served, which could be dangerous for children who had already consumed some of the drinks. The restaurant is advised to improve its processes to serve drinks correctly, especially when it involves alcohol and minors.

Overall, Cafe Rubio combines good food, lively entertainment, and a vibrant atmosphere, making it a favorite spot for those looking for classic meals and a fun night out.

Ordered via Uber Eats around 11 PM and everything arrived hot and fresh! I have been hunting for great Dominican food in Queens and this place nailed it. The fried red snapper was satisfying, crispy, and perfectly seasoned. Honestly I was most impressed by the generous portion of tostones. Most places barely give you any but they did not skimp. This is officially my favorite Dominican spot!

I did not expect the inside to be beautiful. Its huge, drinks were amazing, food was good. Pricing was a but steep. Kids are allowed which is a huge plus even late hours.

The service I had encountered today for Mother’s Day was very rushed. As a waitress you should show more hospitality make the customer feel your happy to be serving us. The food was graceful but very small proportion given the fact of the increase price. The interior was very modern & clean. Big restaurant very spacious stage.
