“wanted to check out a speakeasy while in town and came across the newsroom on tiktok, due to their “stuff your own empanada experience”. nestled in a quiet area of queens, with easy access.lovely speakeasy ambiance with an aerialist performer & live vocal performances. the music they play is all jazzy covers of hit songs, so it fits the vibe so well.the empanadas and the filet mignon taquitos, were so tasteful and delicious.they give you a very decent amount of time to be there, in order to make room for more people. our server Alberto couldn’t have been kinder and more accommodating to our preferences & needs while there.would recommend this to anyone looking for a laid back speakeasy outside of the hustle and bustle of the major city or times square.“

“Most food is great (sandwiches, salteñas, drinks, desserts) but certain things (like mac and soup) need SALT. The rice pudding is quite sweet but good if you eat warm. The portion size is laughable though.... like 3.5-4oz. Prices are about $1-2 higher than you expect for each item. Fried chicken sandwich is starting to taste like it's fried in old oil. And on the BLP website delivery is free BUT you are still hit with a $3.50 "service fee", which is the restaurant's for using a delivery service. But on Grubhub+ the same service fee applies AND prices food is higher! So even with free delivery it will be higher. I ended up paying over $40 for food for 1. Service is great, music is great, even if loud. I hope they create a better price point for the neighborhood they serve and make the sides as good as the main stuff!“

“Dropped in here a few weeks ago for some drinks and catching up with my friend that lives nearby. I think I had passed this a bunch of times in my adventures of going to Jackson Heights but never checked it out. One perk automatically, there's a check in special of a complimentary glass of Sangria! I haven't seen a check-in special in you don't know how long. It was really exciting. I went with the red sangria and then later ordered their take on a smoked old fashioned. Both were very potent and delicious. The aroma of the old fashioned was amazing. We also ended up getting a flan desert. Now this is going to sound ridiculous but I normally hate flan and this was really delicious. It had a texture that wasn't too jiggly and just creamy surrounded with beautiful strawberries and layered with caramel. It was almost more like a custard and I'll take custardy flan over jello flan every day. Their menu and brunch menu sounds delicious and would definitely think about coming back to try more.“

“I first ate here in 2012 with about 20 Colombian adoptees and have been back so many times despite not living in Queens. I thought it had a different name, but I recognize the decor. This place was amazing and we went around lunch time. Many of us have friends and family in Colombia and we loved this place so much. I remember going there with a friend and not really knowing for sure how to get there one time as we took the subway, but I was still able to locate it. During that weekend we also went to an overpriced place, attempting to be "upscale" and it was no where in the same category as this restaurant. They other place even ripped us on the bill because there were some many of us and they claimed we "must have bought alcoholic drinks". They ripped us off and a girl had to put it on her credit card to get the reservation and now the bill was about $300 to $375 more and we all knew what we ordered food wise and nobody drank I'm excess so we just all chipped in to cover this rip of. If that's not bad enough they had our event published in some magazine or newspaper. Don't waste your time with those places, go here and you will not be disappointed. I'm getting hungry just thinking about it. Ciao.“

Soccer games are on the tv screens inside. There are cushioned booths and chairs, and it's good for small groups or dates. I walked in on a Sunday evening around 7 PM, so we got all the attention. :) The bartenders speak Spanish. The waitstaff said that it turns up at 10 PM, so that is good to know! The menu had light foods like tacos, empanadas, and chicken wings. I had ordered a margarita and a mojito. This bar had on Reggaeton, like lots of El Gran Combo de PR, Daddy Yankee, and Bad Bunny! So I sense that it's a great spot for dancing and drinks! I would definitely go back but probably on a Friday night.“

“Haven't had food from here for a while. Ordered the Bandeja Ecuadoriana which is enough food for 2 easily. It comes with chicharron, Carne asada, sweet plaintain, avocado, rice and beans. The chicharron is too fatty for me, but L devoured it. I had a lil Carne asada. It was seasoned really well, perhaps too salty for my taste but I'm sure others would think it's perfect. Also ordered a Fish Filet which comes with rice, beans, salad I think. The fish is pretty big and enough for 3 meals. I don't normally order fish especially for take out or delivery but it was actually quite tasty. Not dry at all. Definitely one of the better restaurants for Ecuadorian food. Everything was fresh and it arrived hot from UE. I think they use their own drivers.“

“I walked in around 1:30 PM on a Saturday, and it was a bit empty. I believe it was that time of day post-lunch rush. There were many tables available. Our waitress was approachable and helpful. When we needed water or a drink or more food, she was more than happy to assist us. I also noticed she was bilingual and was able to help us in English and Spanish. I went with another Yelper who is Dominican so he chose the spot. I ordered a mojito and it was really sweet and strong. I liked it. We had delicious maduros (sweet plantains) and these beef cups things. I trust those who recommend authentic places. I see some reviews that mentioned lack of staff, but I didn't get a sense of this feeling. The bathroom requires a key.“
