The server is heavy handed with the rice and light handed on the Beans and proteins.
I was surprised this was way more expensive than in Brooklyn, considering rent is cheaper here.“

“Is the food good? Yes. Can you get equally flavorful rice with beans and meat somewhere else for a lower price? Yes. Also, suggestion for the restaurant, I'm not sure if that corn based sauce that comes out with the Yuca frita is authentic to Cuba but some good ol garlic and olive oil mojo would be way better.“

“Stick to breakfast food and you will be fine. Do not order salads and other items in the menu. They make good bagels, waffles, pancakes, eggs, bacon and fries. The pastries and desserts are also really good. Make sure to only order those things.“

“It was my first time trying Empanada Queen, a food truck in Baldwin, and overall, it was a decent experience. They had a deal for 10 empanadas for $28, so I decided to try a variety. I went with shrimp, beef, chicken, and mac and cheese empanadas. The flavors were all pretty tasty, with the shrimp, beef, and chicken being the standouts. However, I wasn’t a fan of the mac and cheese one—it just didn’t have the right texture or flavor I was expecting.
The wait time was short, which was a nice surprise, especially since it was freezing outside! I was glad to have the car to wait in while the food was being prepared.
One thing to note is that the outer shell of the empanadas was quite hard, which made them a bit tough to bite into. On the positive side, the fillings themselves were flavorful. The only other downside was that they only offer one sauce, which had a bit of spice to it. While I didn’t mind it, I wish there were a few more sauce options to choose from.
I'd still recommend it if you're in the area and craving empanadas.“

“This place is a hidden gem. I wish I knew about this place earlier . I ordered the Beef Stew with white rice and beans and let me tell you it tasted like my parents made it. The stew sauce was saucing and it was thick pause . New customer for sure ! I recommend to come in and eat next time I know I will ! Don’t for get the Passion fruit juice !“

“Chill local spot with a Latina/Hispanic vibe. Local DJ with high energy tunes on a Saturday night.. although not crowded be prepared for "Loud" music. Bartenders attentive and friendly with drinks reasonably priced. $5 regular Coronas.. although they have "Mini Coronas" too. $5 Chicken Empanadas was huge.. and tasty too.. “I was referred here by my friend who buys food from here often and shared and it's always delicious. My husband and I come from long island as often as we can now because we have never been disappointed with all the food we bought. Staff and owners are wonderful and very welcoming and grateful for our patronage which we love. The portions are great and pleasantly pleased that they include plantains. My absolute favorite is the beef stew, always mouth watering and tender. We will continue to return. Highly recommend this gem of a restaurant.“

“The food is definitely delicious—fresh off the grill every time. I used to drive past this place all the time until a friend finally brought me here. We ordered the chicken and steak, and the total came to about $22. I also got a small mixed drink for around $4.
About a month later, I came back and ordered the exact same thing, but my total was almost $40. I noticed the menu board had been updated, even though the online menu still looked similar to what I saw on my first visit.
I understand prices go up, but that kind of increase in such a short time is a lot—especially in Hempstead. 😅
The staff is excellent, the restaurant is clean, and the food is genuinely good. I don’t mind paying a little more for quality, but the pricing should still feel reasonable. Hopefully they can offer some specials, combos, or other accommodations because I’d love to keep coming back.“

“Prices for this economy aren’t terrible at all, he markets great, offered free juice (amazing btw) orange , ginger, lemon, carrots , very delicious and healthy, Carlos is just a positive and kind person and it’s a great personality to have in this business, he’s very very kind and this is definitely my new spot for the area. His omlettes and iced coffee are amazing, and the store is well kept and clean , you can tell it’s a clean business 10/10“
