“This spot doesn't have enough Google reviews. It has 750+ reviews on GrubHub at the time of me writing this. Food here is delicious and simple. Great for breakfast lunch or dinner. I ordered the Dominican breakfast, the chicken tacos, nachos supreme with chicken, plantains, empanada, and the agua de jamaica (hibiscus“
“wanted to check out a speakeasy while in town and came across the newsroom on tiktok, due to their “stuff your own empanada experience”. nestled in a quiet area of queens, with easy access.lovely speakeasy ambiance with an aerialist performer & live vocal performances. the music they play is all jazzy covers of hit songs, so it fits the vibe so well.the empanadas and the filet mignon taquitos, were so tasteful and delicious.they give you a very decent amount of time to be there, in order to make room for more people. our server Alberto couldn’t have been kinder and more accommodating to our preferences & needs while there.would recommend this to anyone looking for a laid back speakeasy outside of the hustle and bustle of the major city or times square.“
“Most food is great (sandwiches, salteñas, drinks, desserts) but certain things (like mac and soup) need SALT. The rice pudding is quite sweet but good if you eat warm. The portion size is laughable though.... like 3.5-4oz. Prices are about $1-2 higher than you expect for each item. Fried chicken sandwich is starting to taste like it's fried in old oil. And on the BLP website delivery is free BUT you are still hit with a $3.50 "service fee", which is the restaurant's for using a delivery service. But on Grubhub+ the same service fee applies AND prices food is higher! So even with free delivery it will be higher. I ended up paying over $40 for food for 1. Service is great, music is great, even if loud. I hope they create a better price point for the neighborhood they serve and make the sides as good as the main stuff!“
“This place was really amazing. Me and my friends did a brunch. The food was fantastic the drinks were delicious. We really had a great time. The waitress treated us really good and she was always coming around to see if we needed anything. Thank you so much Maria for your service.“
“My favorite brunch in Brooklyn maybe even nyc !! Everything is absolutely delicious, fresh, good portions and you can tell they use quality products while maintaining good prices! Their coffee and drinks are also incredible. They were really cute before and just went through a lovely renovation that matches the incredibly quality of the food! Amazing friendly staff, I go so much they've started to recognize us, love you Betty!“
“I do eat here twice a week at least near by my job I love them chicken roasted with fries salad and rice for less then 14$ them prices fair specially happy hour drink 8$ that super good for upscale restaurantCustomer service is so great and professional I love the lights and the setting I’m loyal there lol“
“Ecuadorian food needs more love. Come here to get some love.Big time flavor in the pernil, those potato cake things are friggin awesome, the Ecuadorian ceviche is truly awesome. Less limey than other ceviche but almost more buttery? Idk.OH there's an awesome cocktail that's green, refreshing, and perfectly tart that I can't remember. If you ask for recommendations they'll prob give it to ya. Trust me on this“
“What a great hidden gem! The food is great and extremely fresh seafood! The ceviche mixto was flavorful and great portion to share. The highlight of the meal was the dessert, homemade ice cream that was creamy and unique! Will definitely go back!!“
“Fatima's is the best. I got the pernil, which I don't see on the "dishes I recommend" list, and that is a crime because this pernil was *amazing.* Also just plain old rice and beans, I don't know what they do to them but even the next day when they were cold they were still the best damn rice and beans I've ever had.“
“Food amazing, staff amazing, hospitality amazing. Everything was very fresh, seafood cooked perfectly and the corn nuts are fun. Came with a large party and Tito took care of us, if you’re on the fence about dining here, you shouldn’t be.“
“When I found out this family business is co-owned by a fellow Queens College Alum, I had to come!!! It's so inviting and the hostess (sister) was more than accommodating. We were seated quickly and we were able to see the menu both print and via QR Code. We (my husband and I) loved the drink we had as well as the Aji Galina and Arroz Chaufa con Pollo. Extra sauces and a small corn based appetizer was given right away as well. I also appreciated the clean bathroom, which has a urinal and normal toilet, also ADA/wheelchair friendly. The music was excellent too. The fact that this is also family friendly is the ultimate selling point. There's something on the menu for everyone. I will definitely come back with my in laws! This is the freshest, best Peruvian in NYS!!! I WISH YOU ALL THE SUCCESS AND DECADES IN BUSINESS!“
“‘The Freakin Rican’ rocks! I got a Pernil Sandwich with fries and a Guanabana drink. I loved how warm the food was and how natural the drink was. The Spanish music was amazing. The atmosphere was amazing. I even loved the aesthetic of the restaurant! Definitely planning to comeback??!“
“Chucho's Hot Dogs is a great place to grab a delicious and creative hot dog. Their menu offers classic options alongside signature creations, with high-quality ingredients. They even allow for customization so you can build your own hot dog exactly how you like it. If you're looking for a fun and flavorful hot dog experience, Chucho's Hot Dogs is definitely worth checking out!“
“I went there for my mom Bday and I came back for a farewell dinner with a big group of latinas talking at the same time ??? … food, atmosphere and service was so great!! They also have live Paraguayan Typical music with an “Arpa” … we really recommend it !!! thank so much I love Paraguay team !!????❤️“
“Brilliant. Perfect. I had no idea there was a Tabaré closer to my house than the one in Williamsburg. Love love love the place, the staff and the food obviously. Everything we ordered was delicious (Uruguayan sausage, Chicken Liver pate, Beet salad, Shrimps, Churrasco). I don’t think that we were done eating when we tried to figure out when we could come back next. Also, really fair prices. Just great :)“
“Picked up food here during a late night. Nobody was there but the music was blaring. I got a burrito bowl with shrimp and chaulafan with seafood. The food was delicious but prices are a bit high. The seafood was not overcooked. The chaulafan was flavorful and contained a good amount of seafood (mussels, shrimp, and squid) and it wasn't rubbery at all! The fried egg was nice and fluffy as well.“
“Dropped in here a few weeks ago for some drinks and catching up with my friend that lives nearby. I think I had passed this a bunch of times in my adventures of going to Jackson Heights but never checked it out. One perk automatically, there's a check in special of a complimentary glass of Sangria! I haven't seen a check-in special in you don't know how long. It was really exciting. I went with the red sangria and then later ordered their take on a smoked old fashioned. Both were very potent and delicious. The aroma of the old fashioned was amazing. We also ended up getting a flan desert. Now this is going to sound ridiculous but I normally hate flan and this was really delicious. It had a texture that wasn't too jiggly and just creamy surrounded with beautiful strawberries and layered with caramel. It was almost more like a custard and I'll take custardy flan over jello flan every day. Their menu and brunch menu sounds delicious and would definitely think about coming back to try more.“
“Mia was great first time coming to this spot and I enjoyed it, the mimosa was hitting ! Definitely a spot to come back tooVegetarian options: Good options for all food choicesParking: Weekend parking will be perfect or you can get on the meter“
“Delicious and fabulous service! The service workers recommended the passion fruit tres leches and it was fabulous; the passion fruit layer added some tartness to the otherwise sweet cake.Out of abundant generosity they also gifted me a piece of their traditional tres leches cake. It was also delicious but definitely more sweet, without the fruit layer. Recommended with coffee!“
“I'm obsessed with Lunera! This Colombian-Mexican gem in Astoria has stolen my heart and taste buds. Their sangria is hands-down my favorite - a perfect blend of fruity and tangy. But honestly, everything on the menu is a must-try! From the mouthwatering churrasco (their specialty, and for good reason!) to the flavorful empanadas and paella , every dish is a masterpiece. The owners are often present, warmly greeting customers and making everyone feel like family. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, and the service is top-notch. If I had to choose just one favorite, it'd be the churrasco - but honestly, I dream about everything on their menu! Five stars and a permanent spot on my favorite restaurants list. ?? Lunera, you have my heart (and taste buds) forever!“
“First time here. Party of nine. The food was delicious, the drinks were good. Good ambience. Great staff. I would definitely come again.Kid-friendliness: Very nice ambience, friendly staff. Delicious food! A great place to come and eat. We all had a great time. I would definitely come again.“
“Small, cozy atmosphere with yummy food and drinks. Guacamole was fresh, chips crisp. Chuleta al pastor amazing with its pineapple jam, moro and shaved brussel sprouts salad. The corn was yummy. I expected the maple maduros to be sweeter because of the maple but they were regular maduros which was still perfectly fine. Tamarind margarita and mezcal drink were perfect. I will definitely recommend and be back.“
“Came by for an early dinner on a Saturday night. This place is a little outside the busy main Astoria area. The outside looks very minimalistic you wouldn't know it's Peruvian just passing by. From the drinks to the entree, everything was tasty and portioned well although slightly on the pricier side. One cocktail, fruit drink, arepa small dish, ceviche mixto, and entree came out to $100 after tip.“
“Everything we had was absolutely delicious and so beautifully presented. The birria torta was incredible. The chicken sandwich was crispy and juicy in all the right ways. I loved the seasonal cocktails as well. Can't wait to come back and try brunch!“
“This place is really different. I love the Vinyl when you come in. The hostess was pleasant and told us to wait at the bar. The bartender immediately came over and showed us how to scan the cocktail menu. The atmosphere is young and loud. The table service was amazing. The young lady who attended us made accommodations for us without a fuss. The food was good. The Sangria was flowing. Did not feel rushed. All in all a great experience. I live in South Jersey but I would definitely come back!!!❤️❤️❤️“
“Very good service, the girl who served me was very friendly, she was always attentive to me, she treated me very well, I loved her service, the order was prepared very quickly, they didn't make you wait so long and the food was very good by the way, the drink too very good, pina coladas recommended. I liked!!!Kid-friendliness: The place is good to go and share with the family, very safe.“
“To begin with... it fills me with joy to have a Uruguayan Bakery near where I live, nothing better than having things that make you remember your beloved homeland. We come very often to eat here and buy takeaway. The cakes that I order are delicious, everyone is super satisfied and happy with the quality. The cream on the outside is always super sweet, but these cakes don't make you sick and make you want to continue eating more! Congratulations to the pastry chef who is a genius! Everything else we have bought is always fresh. The crumb sandwiches that you always worry are not going to be fresh, well here they are always delicious and fresh. Spectacular attention as always! Many thanks for everything!“
“1st timers and the food, the atmosphere, the staff, the comic book shpeal...all of it...we loved! However the music caan be a lil bit lower just cus it's brinner lol Now I doo wanna come a lil later to get my dance on cus the music was also banging! “El Chivito de Oro in queens NYC offers an amazing experience to uruguyan culture. Exceptional entraña and pasta Alfredo, boasting the perfect combination of quality and affordability. The warm ambiance and welcoming staff add to the dining experience, making it a restaurant worth returning to. Highly recommended for anyone seeking delicious food at reasonable prices in the city.Honestly best entraña and Alfredo Pasta in town!“
“Came here for brunch! The gentleman that attended my family and me was super awesome and hilarious, what a personality, his name was Anthony he had long hair! I will assure you that we will continue to brunch here! The only thing is you need hookah so that i can bring the rest of the family haha. Great job Anthony thank you for the awesome service!“
“Food looks great for breakfast & lunch. We had breakfast which it was very good & tasty. There are different choices for lunch like carne guisada, pupusas, chicharron con yuca, empanadas, etc. coffee was strong & tasty .... The way we like it .Homefries, suny side up eggs, sausage & toast“
“Very cute spot with really good coffee and service. Ecuadorian fried rice was delicious and hit the spot, the egg on top made the whole meal. Would strongly recommend, very well priced and good serving sizes. Not too many seats indoors but still worth a visit if you're in the mood for either coffee or good food.“
“Came here to eat with the family and we had an awesome experience. The service was amazing! I didn’t get her name but our server was very attentive and hilarious. We all ordered a variety of food like arroz chaufa, salchipapa, jalea mixto and we were 100% satisfied. Definitely worth going back to !“
“Absolutely fantastic, I've been meaning to come here for a year and finally did. Service was excellent, food was great, extremely quick, and very reasonably priced for LICTheir HH drink menu looked good too although I didn't partake“
“This is truly a great find in the area! The food and drinks are always consistent and the empanadas blew me away! They were perfectly filled and nice and crispy. It was so good with the chipotle mayo! I also ordered the sangria during happy hour and wow...this is 100% worth the prices. No expensive at all, very nice ambiance on the inside and service was exceptional. 10/10 would be back“
“I got there food right before the closing time and lemme tell you, it was SO SO GOOD!The flavors are amazing and the food's always piping hot and the portion was generous!I only discovered it through TooGoodToGo but now that I realized that this place is such a gem, I'd be coming back for more :) and help support local businesses.“
“Performed at the shade45 launch show for the punchline academy. Nice venue, dope vibes. Didn't eat here, just drinks.Parking: Can be tough to find street parking. We parked about 2 blocks away, got lucky and found a free spot because of the time and day of week“
“Came to this place today, Sunday, for early lunch with the family. Since we were the only customers at that moment, we knew that we would get our orders pretty fast and we were all hungry. The place looked great and food even better! Anticuchos and Jalea is what we ordered appetizers and the specials of the day, Baked Fish and Arroz de Mariscos were really delicious. The classic Peruvian Rotisserie Chicken could not be forgotten which was just as good. Definitely recommend this place. Wished I had my phone to show how great all our orders looked. We’ll be back whenever we are in the area for sure!!“
“I came to NYC around a month ago and I was looking for a place like this one, where you can buy affordable, delicious and reasonably healthy food (having eaten too many burgers and sandwiches this month). The portion sizes are quite big, I barely managed to eat all of the meat and half of the rice. The price is similar to what you'd pay to buy a meal at McDonalds, so going to this place instead is a no-brainer. The corn bread was amazing! That being said, I am giving the atmosphere just 1 star because I had the worst time waiting inside. It was also so loud that I could barely hear the person who served me both times I was there. The staff was patient and friendly enough though. The other customers, not so much. In my country, when a place is crowded, you usually wait near the door until the line starts moving, which is what I did. Someone must have thought that I was trying to cut the line and literally whistled at me and pointed to a spot behind him like I was a dog. 5 years ago, I would've left never to return again, but I understand that this is not the fault of the staff, so I stayed and bought a delicious meal. It is advisable to avoid the lunch rush and other customers some of who lack basic manners.“
“One of the best meals I’ve had in a while. My boyfriend took me here on a whim and said I had no idea what I was missing and he was right. The chipotle queso dip and salsa was the perfect way to start and the trio of tacos with Brussel sprouts tied it all together. The food came out fast and fresh and the service was impeccable. Looking forward to coming back and trying more of the menu soon!“
“It's 2024 and this place is still a hit in my heart ❤️ ? ? I highly recommend coming to this beautiful establishment nestled in the heart of Spanish harlem on the east side. Come show some love to this Gem plus the best thing about this place besides the food, are the amazing people! It's such a vibe... love you ?“
“I really enjoy getting breakfast here. Mary’s is such a neighborhood staple. I usually get the sausage, eggs, and grits (comes with toast) and always leave happy and full. Service is friendly and prices are fair. They recently renovated the small dining area which is nice to see as well.“
“The food is excellent, the atmosphere is great, the music is just enough to enjoy the dishes of Peruvian food, which in my opinion is one of the best. The waitress Claudia was very attentive, very friendly 10/10 highly recommended, thank you Lima for giving us this incredible experience.“
“Delighted with the food, the atmosphere in the back and Elberth's attention, which is the best! Always attentive to his clients, super friendly and willing to provide a great experience. That's why every time I can I go to Mr. MarioParking: It is very difficult to find parking. Terrible!“
“All I wanted for Christmas was tamales and champurrado. Found this spot and got exactly what I wanted. Every type of tamale they make is great! Asked the guy working if he knew of a good panaderia and he directed to me to a spot around the corner to get some pan dulce. Highly recommend!“
“Best place for special food. Spanish Chinese. I have been going to this place for a least 20 years. It's just like time stands still. The best part is to keep seeing the waiters taking your orders by memory. No pens or computer. The only thing bring cash credit cards not “
“Cute spot. I went for happy hour on a Monday. Everything my friends and I had was delicious! We had the Guac and chips, Arepita Sliders, Chicken Taquitos, the Salmon entree, and the chicken entree. The drinks were great too. I had a strawberry and mango non-alcoholic mojito. My friends the coconut, passion fruit, and blackberry mojitos. They said theirs were nice and strong too. My friend also ordered the tres le he cake and said that it was delicious! I would def go back!“
“I first ate here in 2012 with about 20 Colombian adoptees and have been back so many times despite not living in Queens. I thought it had a different name, but I recognize the decor. This place was amazing and we went around lunch time. Many of us have friends and family in Colombia and we loved this place so much. I remember going there with a friend and not really knowing for sure how to get there one time as we took the subway, but I was still able to locate it. During that weekend we also went to an overpriced place, attempting to be "upscale" and it was no where in the same category as this restaurant. They other place even ripped us on the bill because there were some many of us and they claimed we "must have bought alcoholic drinks". They ripped us off and a girl had to put it on her credit card to get the reservation and now the bill was about $300 to $375 more and we all knew what we ordered food wise and nobody drank I'm excess so we just all chipped in to cover this rip of. If that's not bad enough they had our event published in some magazine or newspaper. Don't waste your time with those places, go here and you will not be disappointed. I'm getting hungry just thinking about it. Ciao.“
“The website is very confusing because I placed the order, then someone called that they didn’t have what I wanted and my desserts weren’t delivered. My receipt showed I ordered two, however they corrected the problem and delivered the desserts. I would order again if they fix their website to not allow orders for items that aren’t available. The delivery person was very polite.“
