“We have been to Thai Rock numerous times with friends or by ourselves. In the evening the bar scene is sometimes more important than having a good meal, although we managed to eat well enough with the noise. During the pandemic we had limited choices of simplified dishes. But now, going for a tranquil lunch on the large deck overlooking Jamaica Bay and the Cross Bay Bridge, with sun or shade depending on your preference, we had top quality Thai. Our green papaya salad (we had it hot, but medium and mild were options) had a nice mixture with green beans, cherry tomatoes, and peanuts. Deep fried cod with peppers in a sweetish sauce was excellent. The star was marinated beef (chicken, shrimp, pork were other options) with string beans, ginger, and chopped nuts. Sharing all this made a balanced meal. Others had fancy looking cocktails. The service was friendly and attentive. We plan to go back soon.“

“Every time I’m in 90 roosevelt ave I always go to Tia Julia, I will always get a torta, but one time I got rice and beans, there were 2 options, 5$ rice and beans or 10$ rice and beans, both are very cheap but u chose the 5$ dollar rice and beans. I had just finished a late workout and was heading to meet up with friends when I needed some food. I saw the food truck and stopped by. I ordered the Al pastor burrito because I was super hungry which was $13. He melted the cheese which to me is always the most important thing and the rest of the ingredients are fresh and the meat was delicious.“

“Best tasting gyro cart in Jackson heights. Bashir is a gentleman and very patiently cook foods in small batches. Customers have to wait a bit to get the freshly cooked food. Portion amount is enough for one person. Highly recommend. He can make the food hot or spicy according to customer’s choice.

I ordered the chicken nachos and they were good, chicken was packed w flavor, there was guac and cheese and beans all very fresh and good. Took about twenty minutes for me to get my food which is not bad considering its fresh. If they put out some seats that would be very nice because theres not that much seating around the area.“
