I don’t see why there is a room rating for this it isn’t a hotel. They have high quality drinks served. The ribs are fall off the bone tender. The waiters are friendly. Great place for a summer BBQ experience it’s difficult to think of a negative comment to make about this place. The location is good just before entering Lake placid before the trooper barracks. Only issue is it’s a little awkward to pull out of because it’s on a decently trafficked highway.
This place has a BBQ mountain charm. Watermelon served on the side supprised me but was a great addition. We couldn't pick what to eat so we spilt a three meat option. Pork, ribs, and chicken are very good.My husband wanted to come back the next day.

I am writing a review for the cabins at Tail O' the Pup! The owner was great at communicating all the details of my stay. The room was exactly what I needed - TV, bed, bathroom/shower & wifi! Just the basics for me as I was enjoying a weekend up in Saranac Lake/Lake Placid hiking. My room stayed very warm, as well as the water in the shower, which was great for re-heating after hiking for hours in the cold!
