“Everything was delicious. Live music was awesome. Tips were very flavorful and tender. My only complaint was that the server hands you a small device with the total of your bill and expects you to pay him on the spot. I like to look at my bill and decide on a tip, not while the server is standing there waiting. Hayden was a great server. Will come sgain.“

“If your into Bavarian pretzels or movie theatre pretzel bites, theirs are the best I've come across and it's homemade pretzel bread!...Boomer pie was an awesome white pie. This place is serving the kind of homemade dough every pizza place wants to achieve...crispy, fluffy, fresh. Get the homemade blue cheese on the side of anything you might want it with, she is CHUNKY and fresh...Campfire sour cocktail was exceptional, it just tastes like the smell of a spicy campfire. Delicious. IZ was our server and she recommended everything we already wanted to try and was an awesome server. We will absolutely be back. This place is worth leaving the hotels downtown for if your visiting lake placid!Vegetarian options: Falafel was probably the best I've ever had.“

“Being new to town, I'm trying to experience as many different places as I can. This has, hands down, been one of the best experiences I have had so far. The owner, Bill, and my server Kara (sp?), were not only accommodating when they realized I was having a very tough day, but went out of their way to be kind and understanding during my time there even though they were extremely busy. That kind of service is what makes a place go from good to great. Thank you both for the kindness that you showed me and the impact you made on my life today. “The Salt of the Earth Bistro will go down as one of the best restaurants i've ever been to. After constantly driving past this place heading into Lake Placid, my dad and I decided to make a reservation for dinner to celebrate completing the ADK 46er challenge. The food was delicious, the waiter had amazing attention to detail and was extremely knowledgeable. I would give 10 stars if I could. The price is 100% worth it.“

“Stopped in on a whim walking through the town. The maple vanilla cappuccino was delicious. I had the flourless chocolate cake and it was perfectly made. It reminded me of the flourless chocolate cake my aunt used to make. The chocolate mousse cake was also very good. Great service and delicious treats. Highly recommend!“

As vegetarians we noticed some menu errors like the “Lobster Roll” having a ‘v’, vegetarian label on the menu. Oops. The others tried the lobster roll and it was good.Dessert we shared the Maple Pot o Crème, wow, and the Chocolate Peanut Butter cup, very good.Vegetarian options: Always has vegetarian choices. “Visited with my lady after doing some hiking earlier in the day. I was weighing area dinner options until I started reading the menu. I was immediately interested in the Thai Maple chicken wings. Followed by Fried Pickles with Sriracha ranch. Ok now we're 2/2. Brussels? Not usually a fan. But the menu description made it worth a shot. Finally, we saw the Whipped Feta app and decided this was the place. We don't need to look at entrees, it's apps for dinner tonight. Well, we should probably get a salad to make it a healthy mealThe wings come in orders of 6 or 12. They were big and juicy. The Thai Maple was well balanced, not too sweet. The Pickles were tasty. Get in there with your hands, get some of that arugula and pickled onion together with the pickle and dip it all in the Sriracha ranch. The Brussels were flavorful and crispy, I would order them again. The whipped Feta app is served hot and the first bite, with honey and pistachio, was divine. Star of the show.I'm not usually a porter guy, but the maple cream porter was delicious and would have been worth a second glass if I was staying longer.By the time we made it through the apps, the salad was an afterthought and we took most of it to go.Atmosphere was quiet and dim, with some overhead music that wasn't over the top loud. Exactly what we were looking for. I think calling it elevated bar food sells it short, but if you're looking for menu items with character and a chill vibe, this is a great spot. 4 apps, Chix Caesar Salad, and 3 beers cost around $90. You can certainly get out of there for cheaper, but we wanted to try a variety of things“

“Very nice place. Went a little early before the regular dinner crowd. Very good service loved the brisket Frenchdip.Parking: Can be hard at times to find parking during ski season or summertime, but if you're walking to visit the shops, this is worth the stop for a meal.“

“We have eaten here a few times. The atmosphere is cozy and has an Adirondack feel. The food is delicious and homemade. The meat is smoked in house. The smoked wings are delicious. Ordered the sausage biscuit sandwich which was pretty good but the side potatoes were not. Also ordered the French toast fondue and didn’t finish it because it was so awful. I didn’t catch the servers name but she had a great attitude and was very helpful. Go if you want, but there are definitely better places.“

“This place is right out of the past. I love it. I have stayed here a couple times and the last 2 nights was one of them. Admittedly, it was a little chilly when we got to our room (somewhat late) and the place is a little dated but it is so clean and the people are so kind AND the restaurant is Amazing! I'm Muslim so it was hard to find halal food around lake placid.This was one place we found fish and chips and salmon with veggies.Thank you for having that on the menu please don't remove it.They were closed on Sunday so we checked a few places menu online, said it had fish and chips and when we got there it wasn't. We called somewhere and they said yes they serve fish and chips and when we arrive they said no. We just ended up getting pizza from the last place we called and visited ugh ?,“

“Peak 47 is the casual restaurant located within the Whiteface Lodge. It sits right next door to Kanu, the hotel's fancier option. We actually prefer the laid-back atmosphere of Peak 47 to Kanu. The food is great, the decor is beautiful, and the service has always been top-notch. Peak 47 is one of our go-to restaurants to visit in the Lake Placid area. Highly recommended!“

Would have been a 5+-star review except when we arrived on Tuesday lunch (visiting for the week from Canada). paid for on-street parking, and walked in the freezing cold to find they were closed for 2 days for renovations, we were not happy. BUT, we went back on Thursday and my wife had the Mozzerella Spendini which were SUPER!!! My daily special of Shrimp Caeser Salas was good, but not outstanding. I did enjoy it though. Service was good and I would have loved to talk more with the server and manager about where they were from. It shows in their food in the best way.“
