“Pepper Pot is one of the most authentic Jamaican restaurants in the Rochester area. I’ve been a customer for seven years. The Head Chef, Marlene is wonderful. Her beef & veggie patties, jerk chicken, oxtail, curry chicken, steamed cabbage , rice and peas, plantains and fried dumplings are our favorites. “Go, get the combo platter and feast! Spouse and I got the oxtail and goat platter. Came with a fantastic cabbage side dish, beautifully seasoned rice and plantains. Also doughnut-like dessert that was the perfect end to our meal. Our platter fed both of us, twice.As we knew nothing about Jamaica cusine, we relied on the very helpful and patient staff. “Fantastic food, great service, bad location and panhandlers right outside the entrance.The glass door was shattered upon opening. Would love to see this business grow and move into a plaza of some sort. Prices are very reasonable and again the food was amazing! I won't go here alone due to safety reasons, however i would recommend them for the food.“
“Overall, pretty good! We had the chicken Kabob with mango habenero sauce and a side of fries!Chicken itself was mediocre, but the sauce was delicious!! I wish it had more than just a drizzle but I get why it doesn’t at the same time. Definitely will have again for the mango habenero.“
“I see so many bad reviews about this restaurant & the owner… but to be honest I went there for the first time the other day & for one the food was good! Customer service was decent nothing to complain about at all in my opinion…. Prices are reasonable! … to the negative comments …this woman looks like she busy from sun up to down so if she wasn’t up to your standards I feel you being as selfish.. I understand “customer always right or satisfactory” but she’s human I’m sure she has a family as well & gets tired like everyone else!!! So be mindful… I would recommend 10x“
“Nins catered our wedding and they did wonderfully. They were able to accommodate our vegetarian needs and drive out to the venue. There was plenty of food and every single guest loved it. The J*** Chicken was amazing. So were the plantains and rice and peas. One of the best Jamaican restaurants I've ever been at and an excellent catering option.“
“This is my first time eating Jamaican Food. I came across A BOGO special on Uber Eats and decided to give it A try. Brown stew chicken was so good, I cried and Thanked God. The chicken was perfectly seasoned and fall off the bone, juicy tender. The red beans and rice were also seasoned well and complemented the chicken perfectly. “Let me start by saying the food was amazing! Seasoned well, food hot when it arrived and everyone at the table enjoyed their food. No complaints. The issue was the service. Walking in on a Sunday for brunch I expected to see someone at the door or front to greet. That wasn't the case. It took about 5 minutes before someone came up to greet and welcome the 3 partied that were waiting. The hosts were great once they were up front. Our waiter was nice but complained about the chef in the back and how he was swamped. Said that the cook won't do anything extra if we asked for something. I would love to come back but maybe when it's not as busy or with a different server.“
“OMG!!! I recently moved from south Florida to Western NY and have been missing a lot of the food I have grown accustomed to; one being Oxtails. I've attempted several times to prepare them myself but, could never get it right! A friend told me about People's Choice, so I gave it a try! All I can say is the oxtails mac n cheese, and collard greens were OUT OF THIS WORLD!!!DELICIOUS❤️ The owner was very nice and graciously gave me some tips as how to prepare them(oxtails) myself but, I think I will bite the bullet, make the sacrifice and take the drive into the city, as I am sure I could NOT do them justice compared to what I ordered and devoured from the People's Choice!
