“After Thanksgiving, my wife & I needed a strategic overnight spot between Catskill & Port Jervis. Voila! Stone House not only allowed our Class B RV to stay over in their back lot, but their food, service, and personal welcome (owners Linda & Al), were unmatched. "Cozy & intimate" is an understatement - as is "well-presented & delicious." Would be challenging to recommend more highly.Parking: Their "Harvest Host" RV area (up the hill) was closed for the season. But (via prior phone permission), we could stay over in the back part of their regular lot, in our class B (i.e., "super van") RV.“
“If you are looking for a Great sandwich for a more then reasonable price, you have found your place. The sandwich selection is full of great options, and you won't be disappointed. The Cuban has been my go-to for a quick weekend lunch option. The staff is attentive and friendly, and one gentlemen calls me young man, even though I am sure that I am older then him which leads me to an extensional crisis while I eat my Cuban. I hope that this joint can survive in our sweet little town full of Teeny boppers and hopeless hipsters. Do yourself a favor and grab a sandwich from this place before our only option is a mutant meat sandwich from Amazon grown in a laboratory for 2$ a month for eternity.“
“Weekday lunch at Garvans! Sharp, smart attentive male server. Fresh flowers on the table. Cozy. Many restaurants get lax about their lunches and it irks me to no end but we noticed the effort here to be consistent with service. Our party of 3 loved all of our appetizers, entrees and desserts (Lamb stew, shepherds pie, scallops, crab cakes, potato leek soup, drinks). Just lovely.“
“My all time favorite restaurant! Consistently excellent, we have been coming here for 35 years and have never once had a bad meal. Authentic German specialties are out of this world, everything is made with the finest ingredients and is very reasonably priced. Service is excellent and the atmosphere is charming in this wonderful family owned restaurant! No other restaurant even comes close!“
“I stopped here to get a light lunch and for a rest stop during a road trip. Although the listing makes it seem like a food court, it is actually a single ordering counter that offers coffees and a variety of prepared food items. I wanted something light, so I tried the empanadas with chimichurri. Although the portion size was good, the filling tasted like "sloppy Joe" meat, and the sauce was sweet. The restaurant has ample indoor seating, and a nice outdoor deck. Parking is limited, and I was lucky to arrive before the lunchtime crowd.“
“The squash was one of the best tasting dishes I had during a weekend upstate. Don’t miss the mayana chocolate bars—sometimes in the display case and sometimes out in the grocery store aisle. I’m obsessed.Vegetarian options: Lots of delicious premade vegetarian options.Dietary restrictions: Lots of gluten free options, including the fried chicken.“
“This place has a classic American tavern feel. There is bar seating and table seating. There are a couple of sections (a big back section which is where our group of 11 was seated). Food was delicious and they had a couple of options - bar snacks, appetizers, salads/soup, mains. The price of main entrees run from $20-$30. Service was also great.“
“The owners are, truly, some of the most genuine business owners I’ve ever met. Deeply kind, so fun to be around, and to top it off, the food and atmosphere are great and chill. I love The Spy team, and I’m so glad that it’s in my town. Thank you all! ✨“
“When you walk in, you are greeted immediately and the atmosphere is inviting and warm. The food was absolutely stellar. I had a grilled octopus special for an app that was cooked to perfection followed by the half rack of lamb that was so juicy and delicious. The sauce was incredible..not only is the food 5 star, watching the staff work together was quite lovely. They seem to be a true family and it is a welcome sight to see. Highly recommend this establishment and kudos to the staff and kitchen.“
“We enjoy the Reservoir Inn for special occasions. Since we had our wedding reception there we try to go every year for our anniversary (and occasion birthdays). This year we had an absolutely delicious jambalaya. The wait staff. Is always excellent and we can always depend on great food!“
“We have had an early (4:30pm) dinner this past weekend. We have been there several times before but over 15 years ago. No specific reason for the lapse. just never got back. Our past experience was: Food and service 5 stars, Atmosphere: upscale (dressy), Prices: reasonable for the quality and portions. The steak Au Poivre was the best I have ever had. New experience: The atmosphere, is more casual -(almost "rustic"), The host wearing a flannel shirt, and the waitress wearing a down vest. After other guests arrived, I thought it was a bit noisy but then realized there wasn't a person dining under 80 (guessing hearing problems, LOL), I'm 65 and felt like a kid, LOL. No worries, it didn't affect my food! LOL!. Food and service: The calamari was skimpy but cooked perfectly. The French onion soup was VERY VERY good!! The Steak Au Poivre... is STILL the best I have ever had! The fries, well I like the crisp-crisp-crisp, but did not specify.. They came out perfect to my liking. The bourbon list, only Knob Creek and Bullitt, drinkable but it would have been nice to see some eagle rare, Blantins, etc. The "house" wine was yummy too. No dessert, we were very full. SummaryL We would absolutely go back again and not wait 15 years! 5 stars from us. Note; we liked the casual dress... I dont mind wearing a shirt and tie but we did feel more relaxed in casual attire.“
“We always saw a line out of the door at this restaurant so we decided to try it out. I’m so glad we did because their breakfast menu is so satisfying and well-priced. I had the chicken and waffles which was so delicious and heavy which was perfect when we needed to refuel after hiking around the area. It’s perfect for before or after hikes. Although, the proportions are massive so maybe try the lighter meals if you’re going to go for a hike shortly after. The staff are incredibly kind and frequently check in. This will definitely be our go to eatery after hiking around New Paltz.“
“lemon squeeze had the only people all night that would help my friends when a man was harassing us. we were there for a few hours before this happened and had the best time with the live music and great vibe! the staff genuinely saved us that night and deserve ten stars“
“My partner and I had dinner at Ole Savannah's on New Year's Eve and there quite honestly could not have been a better place, with better staff or food, or drinks anywhere in the area to ring the new year in. Lucy- our server was the epitome of welcoming attentive service. She never rushed us and never once made us feel uncomfortable. Lucy was so complimentary to us and I cannot stress this enough- made us feel so special and taken care of. Even when a table next to us was exhibiting the most grotesque and rude behavior I have ever seen in a restaurant, Lucy and Stacey (the manager aka the forthright captain) handled the situation as the professional, courteous, and kind human beings they are. I had the steak frites and my wife had the honey glazed salmon. Both were cooked to perfection and we would be again hard pressed to find a meal or cocktails to send off 2023 so well. We will certainly be returning as soon as possible with all our friends and family at any opportunity we get. Love this local restaurant and we are so so glad everyone at Ole Savannah's is here.“
“Every time I visit the food is outstanding. The Zuppa di Pesce is to die for. The appetizers are amazing especially the raw clams and oysters; It's hard to find them as fresh anywhere on the planet!!!. The staff are kind and pleasant.“
“Delicious food and amazing staff. They smoke some of their meats in house too. Everyone is always friendly and accommodating and I love the decor. My number one recommendation is the “Get Outta Town” it’s so good. Definitely worth a try!“
