“I went here for breakfast while on business, and it was so good I stopped in again for breakfast the following day! The staff are friendly and always keep your coffee full to the brim with a smile on their face. Would 100% recommend for anybody visiting this area. Parking can be a bit of a challenge since they’re always packed but it’s worth the wait.“

“Always satisfied at this diner. Irish breakfast is a large serving, good for 2 people really- has black and white pudding, beans, ham with cooked tomatoes. Breakfast specials come with a small glass of juice, good prices. Mykonos omelette had chunks of feta with tomatoes. 2 eggs with meat is perfect serving size. The place is clean, clean restrooms. Food came out quickly. Service, during our most recent visit, is friendler than the last one. Meter parking in the area charges $0.25 for 1/2 hr.“

“Great, expansive menu. Nice location with a great interior. There is really something for everyone. The food was simple, but high quality which is exactly what a diner should be. Fresh ingredients and flavor simplicity goes a long way! Would return if in the area!“

“Very good food and service. Has free soda refills.Vegetarian options: Many options without meat, no clear sections for vegetarian dishesParking: Large free parking lot, always a couple spots available even at the busiest timeKid-friendliness: Crayons for kids, good kids menu. Always a decent number of families with young kids and they try to seat those families in the same sectionsWheelchair accessibility: Wheelchair accessible parking and ramp. The front door is not automatic but there is always a staff member nearby who can open the door if needed. Within the diner, most walkways and seating areas (2 out of three rooms) are wheelchair friendly“

“Excellent service however to the owners please put a lock on the ladies bathroom as it is only meant for one lady to use at a time. The bathroom stall has a big opening where if anyone enters into the bathroom you are exposed. Your every private part and what you are wiping is exposed. Unacceptable. Do something about this. The woman who work there why haven’t you complained! I see you use it also?“

“Fast Service and seating even when the parking lot is full..(the sit and wait method will grab you a space fastest) the staff is always friendly. The Crab Cake Benedict is one of the best we've ever had and it's a hard dish to get right to the point it's the only place we have it now...the Crab is real Crab and a plentiful portion, the Apple French Toast is another favorite. We've eaten here many times and was always pleased with the portions and quality..They have good deserts too and also serve liquor (drinks). The Restaurant is Newer / Modern and the bathrooms are always clean. Definitely a place you'd enjoy eating at!“

“Still good- but a much different experience during peak times. A bit of a chaotic rush inside and a long wait to be seated, but this is expected at 10 am on a Sunday...and a pretty good sign of how the food is. We have eaten here on a Saturday at 9am and the atmosphere was more relaxed and we received more attention. The food is pretty impressive either way. Good quality ingredients are prepared with care here. Don't start with me on how good the challah French toast was. And the home fries met every expectation I ever had for potatoes! We are quickly becoming regulars...during non-peak times, that is!“

“Good place located across the street from Iona. I tried it for a late lunch. Food was excellent and service was very good. Nice atmosphere with an "upscale diner" type feel - classy but not overdone. Prices were fair and food was much better than diner style. Parking in back of restaurant was a plus. I definitely will be going back !“

“I have been going to HH since 1991. Jimmy has always been very hospitable and cares about his customers. He is also very careful in making sure that everyone that works there is customer focused as well. a big shout out to Patty and Betty as they always have a smile on their face and are genuinely glad to see everyone that walks through the door. HH is the Cheers of Larchmont!“
“You check in with the host just like a regular restaurant. When you go in it looks like a small cafeteria turned restaurant. You could see the chefs in the kitchen with the front of staff being students as well. My first course was a chickpea, onion, and peach tart. I have never had anything like it and loved it. Would totally order again. The salmon was served over a lemon sauce which was great. The salmon could have used a minute longer but that's personal preference as I like it cooked a bit more. Lastly I had their take on a Boston crème doughnut. It was a round chocolate mousse cake with crème filling around the outside. For $30'i highly recommend coming.“

“Always a hit, have been coming here for years. There is sometimes a wait, but it is worth it. The staff is consistent, friendly, and very funny once you get to talking. And those breakfast potatoes ? Their hostess, Ana, and the rest of their crew are top notch at all times!“

“We have gone to the Glen Cove Diner several times, and each time we were very pleased with the food, service and the helpful staff. The portions are double what I would normally eat, so I have to take home the rest. You don't feel rushed and the lighting is such that you feel relaxed. I would recommend trying this place.“

“The food was great. I was craving lox but i was also craving eggs and home fries…. so i got both! It really just hit the spot!! The homefries were a little bland- but nothing a little salt and BUTTER can’t fix! I actually preferred this over the overly greasy, salty, and mushy homefries you get at most other places so i can’t complain much. Eggs were perfectly cooked, sausage was scrumptious, the lox and veggies were SO SO FRESH, portions were generous, and the atmosphere was great! (bonus points for free wifi)The waitress was phenomenal. She truly made our experience. Bubbly, kind, warm, inviting.. a one of a kind server! I didn’t catch her name, but a mature lady with long blonde hair, glasses, and the sweetest accent you ever heard! I truly think she is an absolute gem. All servers should be like her- a true example of hospitality and grace!“

“Quick and honest review. Neptune diner used to be Jackson Hole. Dined in and had a nice corner booth. Wasn't packed but the place was busy yet the Host and staff were quick to greet, seat and serve with a smile. Had breakfast, Lumberjack with French Toast, large portions, tasted fresh and good and prices were reasonable. Oh yeah, them coffee refills on point. Would most definitely be back.“

“Cycled 40 miles from south shore Long Island. Got here 9 am and not much options in the area.Spoke to a local jogger and he recommended City Island Diner for its food & comfort. I’m glad I took his advice.Walked in and was politely greeted to an old school diner with counter top seats. I got the front row bar stool facing the cook.Watching the orders come in and the cook dishing out his magic. It’s akin to watching a conductor at a symphony.Close your eyes and listen closely to the eggs cracking and being scrambled. You can smell the home fries with peppers & onions. Hear the sizzling of the bacon. My pastrami omelette arrived in a big way. Fantastic flavor & portion. ??Really enjoyed the meal and especially the hospitality. Loved the venue ??“

“I've been coming here for more than I want to admit and makes me feel old. I'm going to keep this very honest in respect to using common sense/speculation/as well as responding to some of the comments on here. We haven't been there in quite some time...surprised to see the place redecorated. My wife loved it...I understand it. I'm one of those people that walk into a pizzeria and see faded red Formica tables, benches and dated dingy decor as a good thing. I was never bothered by aesthetics as it seems seasoned and perfected like the food im about to indulge in. The old international cafe had a plethora of food, nothing that wow'd you BUT was consistently good even though they had a great variety. The freshly made waffles, variety of gelato and fresh whip cream needs no review. People who complain about noise should just stay home with their mask on. You are talking about an open place restaurant that is a staple of a community for decades. Why in 2024 are people so miserable to see others so happy. Place is jammed back...what do you expect it to sound like? People complaining about kids are the same $hit parents who rather hand their kid a iPad instead of letting them socialize. When we go there we expect it to be busy, loud, kids be kids, great food, great service and pay cash. With new owner ship comes many things and one them was the menu. We were thrown off since we were expecting our usual order. A lot of their items on the menu can be easily replicated at home. When we go out to eat we only order what we don't make for the most part. My wife ordered their Chicken Tenders which was made fresh as they were chicken cutlets cut down. I thought it was OK my wife was not happy bc the crispy bread outside came off the chicken itself. We also got wings and beer battered onion rings. Onion rings were great and wings are wings. We don't deep fry in the house for many reasons...we never ordered anything deep fried at the old spot either. Got their loaded potato skins which my wife enjoyed as well. Reviews about the new whip cream being OFF in taste is correct. Gelato tasted the same to us which was good. Price seemed fair for what we got compared to others places we have gone too. Best of luck to the new owners and staff. I honestly don't think we will be back bc happy wife happy life Our waitress was PHENOMENAL“

“Had a nice breakfast recently at Mineola Diner.A very cozy diner with friendly staff, inviting service, and a bit of old-time Diner feel.I must mention something important, at least to me, the cost of meals at Mineola Diner are more efficient than other area diners. With the cost of even Diner meals going up, this establishment can offer the same fare as other places but for less. I hope this doesn't change.Parking can be tricky, and there may be a wait. But patrons get turned over fast enough.“

“It seems that I have repeatedly been prompted to review Majestic Diner, of which there are seemingly two on Long Island. That said, I must start out with a slogan with 5 words. "LAWN GILAND" DINER FEATURING ABBONDANZA There is a silver lining in some clouds and this was the silver lining on an overnight stay in this area using points for lodging. When you leave one of the 2 NYC airports in Queens and board the LIRR to stay this far out, the hassle and work involved might outweigh the savings. (I learned that the Northern New Jersey lodging options make more sense, since you can use NJ Transit at very reasonable prices and it will put you right into Port Authority in Manhattan.) At any rate, I looked at my phone for diner food and Majestic Diner came up. With its metallic exterior and photos of bodacious and abundant food, I was interested. It was about a mile to get there, which I did on foot, complete with an umbrella, and it's on a major boulevard that has all the malls and big box shopping. Once inside, it's decked out as an old school diner, and perhaps even nicer than most adhering to this theme. There are many booths and, because of the big windows and good lighting, it's bright inside, which is what I prefer. I asked for a booth adjacent to a window so I could savor "Lawn Giland" street life. I saw the portions going to customers after sitting down ... and after seeing the menu board specials. These are not $15 packaged deals, given that this is a more expensive area and, well, not Buffalo. However, it's a good value and, coming in at mid-afternoon, the meal served as lunch and dinner. The meal consisted of chicken breasts in a tasty sauce atop a bed of pasta, a salad, cole slaw with a pickle spear, bread, a large slice of chocolate cheesecake, and refillable coffee. Everything on that list fetches at least 4 stars. Also, the ingredients were very fresh and I especially noticed this with the salad. I would have liked to have given the chocolate cheesecake 5 stars, but that is reserved for the now gone Concord Diner in Valley Stream, also on Long Island, where the chocolate was drizzled in to look marbled and which I ate during a lot of rumbling, which, as a Californian, made me think of an earthquake when it was just the LIRR going by. That was the best cheesecake I've eaten to date. The service at Majestic Diner was friendly and attentive. Could it be that taking photos tends to ratchet up the level of service? I ponder this every now and then. The patrons were also friendly. As I took photos, these two ladies from Brooklyn, but native to Poland, began conversing with me from their adjacent table, which was also pleasant. This also makes me ponder if I have a sign saying "foreigners, talk to me," since my friends observe this dynamic and state that it rarely happens to them! Continuing with the armchair sociology, many people have a knee jerk reaction to dislike and distrust anything related to the tri-state New York area. What I notice is that people in this area have routinely been more animated and more friendly to me than anyone in, say, Chicagoland or other Midwestern metropolitan areas has ever been and which is the inverse of the stereotypes. With the food being abundant, I was glad that I walked a mile to and from Majestic Diner. Not only that, I got to size up Long Island better and, for the most part, was amazed that many of the major streets are as large, or larger, than those in L.A.'s San Fernando Valley. It's time to wrap this up. So, here is what we have: 1) tasty food, 2) plenty of it, 3) wait staff that is amicable, 4) potential value - depending on what and how you order, and 5) an elaborate and nicely put together old school diner that I found appealing both inside and out. Go in with an empty stomach!“

“We usually come for brunch and one day decided to come for dinner. We tried the dinner set menu, which comes with soup, an entree and a glass of wine. We ordered the chicken lemon and grilled platter. Both are a very good portion and their chicken lemon risotto soup is very delicious. Second time we came, Nick gave us a free bowl of risotto soup, which was very appreciated. Service has always been good at this place and we're now a regular.“

“I ordered something pretty basic on the menu which was the "Cheeseburger Deluxe" medium temperature, and you know something it was absofreakinlutly delicious cooked to perfection Char-Broil flavor the lettuce and tomato and the onion ring and the pickle all fresh... The coleslaw was extremely disappointing very bland they use white cabbage which had no flavor whatsoever...I make coleslaw for a living and I use green cabbage always... I will go there again and again to go get a wonderful meal..?“

“We are going to do a quick update here as this diner certainly still holds up. Not as great as it was last time I went, but I would keep this diner as a full four star spot. Came here initially to dine myself and then was met by my dad. I was seated by the counter at one of the smaller booths, which is great because I love dining in this area usually. Shout out to the woman who actually sat at the counter and ordered a glass of Merlot at 11:25am on a Tuesday. Do we all need to get on her level? Went simple this time and got the cole slaw with pickles and a French onion soup. The cole slaw was solid and the pickles were pretty generic. The French onion soup left something to be desired. It was jammed pack with cheese, onion straws and bread, but it just lacked flavor. The French onion grilled cheese I had on an earlier visit was a lot better and I think that's what I was hoping for. Finally, this diner is on the corner of Searington Road and Northern Blvd. so it's a great spot to meet someone quick for a cup of coffee, or for lunch. Also not too far from St. Francis hospital where there is a lack of food options.“
