“Found this restaurant by accident on Friday and we love it! In fact, we went back Saturday for Churros and Sunday for dinner again. On Friday we had their Street Tacos and today we had their Tako Bowls! This may be a small place, but their flavors are not!! Amazing food and great portions! The entire staff from front and back of house are very friendly. So glad we found them and looking forward to going back! We HIGHLY recommend them!“

“There are places you stumble into for convenience, and then there are places that feel like they’ve been waiting for you all along—quietly perfecting their craft while the rest of the world argues about trends and fusion nonsense. Cinco de Mayo is the latter.
You smell it before you even sit down. Not the timid, sanitized version of “Mexican food” that gets paraded around strip malls—but the real deal. Warm corn tortillas hitting a flat-top. Meat sizzling with purpose. Cilantro and onion cutting through the air like a sharp knife. There’s a faint hum of spice—cumin, maybe a whisper of chili—hanging low, like it knows it belongs there. It doesn’t beg for your attention. It earns it.
The room itself? No pretension. No curated “aesthetic” dreamed up by someone who’s never eaten standing at a street cart. It’s alive. Conversations bounce off the walls. Plates clatter. There’s an easy rhythm to it all—like everyone in the room is in on the same secret: this is what it’s supposed to feel like. You don’t come here for ambiance in the Instagram sense. You come here because it feels honest.
And then—the tacos.
Simple. Dangerous word, “simple.” Because when something is this stripped down, there’s nowhere to hide. The tortilla is soft, fresh, doing exactly what it needs to do—nothing more, nothing less. The meat? Tender, deeply seasoned, the kind of flavor that doesn’t shout but lingers. You get that first bite and suddenly you’re not in Connecticut anymore—you’re somewhere louder, warmer, more alive. A squeeze of lime, maybe a hit of salsa if you’re feeling bold, and that’s it. No gimmicks. No distractions. Just balance.
You eat one, then another, then you stop counting because counting feels beside the point.
Five stars? Sure. But that doesn’t quite capture it. This isn’t about stars. It’s about walking in hungry and leaving with something that feels a little closer to satisfaction—real satisfaction, the kind that doesn’t need explaining“

“Had an amazing GF experience! Service was top notch and so friendly. All the tacos and sides were the kind you never want to end. Even got some in lettuce wraps. Recommend: Everything! Stand out tacos: Mahi-mahi, shrimp, short rib, friend calamari. Sides: street corn, rice & beans, charred broccoli. Dessert: Churros!“

“IT WAS HORRIBLE. AS A MEXICAN I DO NOT APPROVE, THIS PLACE HAD BAD BAD FOOD, FIRST OF ALL THEY SERVED ME AN ORANGE WITH TACOS, WHO DOES THAT? WHO IN THE RIGHT MIND GIVE ORANGES WITH TACOS, NUH UH. ALSO, I FOUND OUT THAT THEIR GUACAMOLE IS NOT EVEN MEXICAN RECEPIE, IT TASTED LIKE WASABI WITH TOO MUCH MAYO EXPECT IT WAS NOT EVEN WASABI, AND ALSO THERE WERE NOT ONLY HAIRS IN MY FOOD BUT THERE WA A FRAKING ROACH SINGING LA CUCARACHA WITH MEXICAN HAT AND LITTLE TINY MARACAS. THIS PLACE IS OUTRAGIOUS“

“It’s a cozy place in the heart of White Plains that serves delicious authentic mexican food but the best is the service by the hostess and owner Graciela, we highly recommend the place . Prices are reasonable. Friendly environment Super clean.“

“Randomly stumbled on this place because my dryer broke. Had to do a few loads and this place is right next door to the laundry mat. Probably some of the tastiest Mexican food I’ve ever had, and most authentic. The price cannot be beat. I go there and try random things all the time, today I want to try the Chilaquiles. Next time, I wanna try the Pozole Verde. He also informed that they serve tamales on Saturdays and Sundays. I loveeeeeeee this place and recommend to anybody.“

“La La is a warm, friendly neighborhood taqueria in the heart of downtown Pelham and the tacos are superb. The owner is from Oaxaca and he knows his tacos! We eat there regularly and almost always order the special taco of the day. They are original, freshly made and bursting with unexpected flavors, often a delightful combination of creamy, spicy, savory and sweet. We just had the Cochinita Pibil taco and I think it was the best yet. The tortillas are also flavorful and tender.“

“The food was absolutely out of this world, the birra tacos were some of the best I have ever had. The service was amazing and the staff were so nice. When you walk in you would think that it’s a convenience store, but it’s reallly a Mexican deli with homemade food. 10s all across the board would most definitely recommend 👍“

“Why this place is not packed on a Thursday is bizarre as the tacos are exceptional as is the rice and beans and to me you can tell if a Mexican spot cares by their tacos. Excellent Carne Asada and shredded chicken tacos. Im a gringo but know every spot in Stamford and this rivals Casa Villa and Don Tonio for best tacos.
At $5 taco they better be stuffed and these are packed great milder green salsa and a spicy rojo. Served with grilled onions and a sliced jalapeno. I find places think cilantro should be abundant yet here it's just a touch which is perfect!
Definitely a repeat visit place downtown for Mexican finally!“

“What seems to be a nondescript takeout joint located in a strip plaza belies a charming, homestyle spot with flavorful food made with care. Guacamole with fresh chips was so fresh with the just the right amount of onions, tomatoes, salt and lime. Beef flautas, as simple of a dish as they are, were some of the best I’ve tasted. Finally, the Pancita soup hit the spot - warm, spicy and velvety. On top of the food, the waitress was so friendly and welcoming. Top tier recommendation for great Mexican food. Tables are limited (I think about 5). If they had a liquor license, this would be an A+ spot.“

“Tucked away in the heart of New Rochelle’s predominantly Mexican community, this little hole‑in‑the‑wall spot turned out to be a gem. I ordered the steak tacos and the birria tacos, and both were surprisingly delicious — tender meat, great seasoning, and portions that actually feel generous. You can tell it’s family owned and operated from the moment you walk in. Definitely worth stopping by if you want authentic flavors without the frills.“

“Easily one of the best Mexican spots in Westchester. We brought the kids and they couldn’t get enough of the tacos, pupusas, and tamales. Everything tasted fresh and homemade. The food is super flavorful and authentic, and the whole place has a friendly, laid-back vibe. Great for families or anyone looking for a solid Mexican spot. We’ll definitely be back.“

“⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I love the sauce that was on the buffalo wings girl fajita Texans amazing enchilada Sousa everything was absolutely amazing from start to finish. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was welcoming, and the service was excellent. Unfortunately, there was an unexpected medical emergency during our visit, and I have to recognize how outstanding the staff handled the situation.
They responded immediately with urgency, professionalism, compassion, and full attention. Everyone stayed calm, focused, and dedicated to making sure help was provided quickly. It was truly impressive to witness a team that not only delivers great hospitality, but also rises to the occasion during a serious moment.
That level of care says everything about the character of this establishment. Rio Bravo has an exceptional staff, and I highly recommend this restaurant for both their amazing food and the genuine care they show people.“

“Best tacos in New Rochelle. Authentic, mom and pop shop. Been going here for years, never disappointed. It has the ambiance of a pizzeria but I don't go there for that. I go for the delicious and inexpensive burritos. I spent $70 to feed myself, my wife, and 3 hungry boys aged 17, 19, and 19. And there were still leftovers for lunch the next day.“

“Went to this place for a quick stop to eat, it’s nice and cheap, I got 3 tacos, bistec and chorizo, fell in love with the chorizo tacos and the bistec ones were also amazing. It was very cheap 12 dollars for the order of 3. The worker, her name was Guadalupe was so nice and sweet. I definitely recommend coming here for some good Mexican food. My brother ate the chalupas and his girlfriend the nachos and they also loved their meals“

“First off, I saw the watermelon margarita as I walking up and thought it looked so pretty and immediately wanted to try it. I was happy that they were able to serve it with tajin on the rim cause it honestly made both better. The watermelon tasted like it’s natural fruit which paired well with whatever alcohol they used but the mango one… delicious. It wasn’t the same experience on replicating the fruit but it was so well sweetened that the alcohol was almost completely masked 10/10 def recommend.
We came as a group for Father’s Day and the place seemed really tamed even if it did take a little while to get in. The place was well spaced and perfect for a family setting as they’re able to move tables together to accommodate for your party size. I ordered the Salmon all grill which was perfect. It wasn’t anything special so there wasn’t an overwhelming taste that would’ve made to harder to eat throughout time. It does come with tostonas which I opted out of since they’re not my cup of tea. The rice was perfectly plain but not bland and I def would eat here again.
There was someone in my party that ordered the chicken and learned that the seasoning they used was chili which they were allergic to so I’d def look out for that if you are the same. The waitress was very sweet too, she was very busy and seemed like she was looking over the other waitresses orders to make sure everything was correct so I’m super glad we got her right from the start. She also tried to reassure us that no chili was added to the chicken and had no problem checking it with the chef which lead her to learn and tell us about the seasoning contents.
Overall a very homey and nice place for a family dinner.“
