“Whenever I had a craving for south indian food in long island, I used to frequent Taste of Chennai, i.e. until I discovered this place Village - The Soul of India. This is by far the best south indian restaurant in long island. Their pani puris are killer. The dosas, idlis chutneys and sambars reminded me of what I had tasted back in India. Everything tasted fresh too. The service was good and prompt. We were lucky to get in right before the dinner rush hour where we saw large groups having to wait for a table.

For those who are not familiar with south indian food: their menu is either completely vegetarian (as in this case) or largely vegetarian and 100's of options to choose from.

The staff here are very kind and friendly and will happily fix your order if you get the wrong food. I am a huge fan of their menu, they have a lot of great items on it despite it being so limited. My go to ramen has to be the spicy ramen, it has a rich creaminess, with the hint of spice for those looking for that extra kick to dance on their taste buds. “Yesterday was the first time I have been to Popei’s. What a great night! From the moment we walked in the owner/chef greeted us. We sat outside in the tent with the great musician. He was very interactive, took requests. People were singing along, It’s was very enjoyable. It was very clear our waitress, Janice was extremely busy but also very thorough careful and caring. It’s obvious she cares about what she is doing and works very hard. Upon my ordering, I mentioned a food allergy Janice double checked that things were OK before she submitted the order. 2 other people came to verify before cooking my meal. The food was SO GOOD! Big portion sizes. Gave my mother dessert to celebrate her birthday. Overall, it was an absolutely fantastic night. We will be back. My only suggestion would be when the musician is taking a break to lower the background music. When he wasn’t singing, the music was still incredibly loud and we had difficulty hearing each other at the table.“

“AWESOME KOREAN RESTAURANT IN LONG ISLAND: I’m not a foodie and I don’t think I’ve ever posted about restaurants (but I am Korean) - I have to make an exception for this place. Yes, this restaurant is on Long Island, but the Korean food EXCELLENT (better than lots of places in Flushing) and service is OUTSTANDING. Every dish we’ve tried so far (짜장면, 순두부찌개, 육개장, 제육덮밥) has been so amazing, delicious, and authentic (especially the spices!!!). If you’re ever in the area, please stop in and eat here. It’s crazy awesome! Thanks to my friend for encouraging me to try at a Korean restaurant that is not in Queens. Danny worked with us to create a menu that was tailored to us and our guests and we got SO much food included in the package we did. He also worked with us to create table arrangements that worked best for our event. I was worried at first that the space only being partially private and not a true private room would be an issue but it was not at all!
