I've been coming to Mean Max since the Marie days. When they said they were opening a second location in Troy I was skeptical that they would be able to replicate the special place that is Mean Max. But they managed to out do themselves - starting with a proper, larger, sign. Next they placed this tap room right on Monument Square so there are great restaurants around. A recent outpost of the Mean Max brewery with a good variety of tasty brews right in the heart of central Troy. They do flights but no food . Nice atmosphere with relaxing jazz playing when I stopped in. Friendly staff and a positive vibe. A welcome addition to the area and well worth a visit. Right next to the Capital District Center for the Arts.

What an awesome find. I didn't know they opened a location in Troy. It's just wonderful. Great beers and bartenders. Great tasting stouts which are a favorite of mine. No food but that's fine and typical of most breweries. Believe you can bring food in.
