“Chicken Wings. Hands down, the best around. I used to go to The Ruck, but last time the wings looked like they were from week-old chicks. Never seen wings so tiny. I've gone to the Ale House ever since...as a lone patron, never felt weird. I recommend the Hefeweizen to pair.“
“We had our engagement party here. We were lucky to be able to reserve the River Bar. Jared did an amazing job helping us plan the event. He suggested a date where live music was playing which made our party even better. He worked with us to create a food menu and gave us awesome feedback on how much to order based upon our party size. The rest of the staff that served our party was wonderful. The drinks and food were delicious. The staff made sure the food was staying hot throughout the party and they even helped us box up all of our gifts at the end of the night. They did everything to make sure we had a memorable night. To top it all off, it's nice to have a place to go in Troy, New York that supports your local law enforcement and first responders. If you are thinking of having a private party this is a great option!“
“Love this quirky yet cozy and super-cool spot. A great thing about Troy is the old buildings there have cool nook-like spaces such as this. The wood fired wings were really good - not straight down the middle typical Buffalo wings, but very good (with top notch bleu cheese.). “Medium” had just the right amount of heat for us. Pizza was very good too. Look forward to going back. Recommend.“
“My bartender had the widest selection of gin I've ever heard of. So I decided to go back to my basic Gin Martini. He recommended the Brooklyn Gin since I'm all about my local distillers... He also recommended that I try blue cheese olives instead of plain olives and orange bitters instead of my go-to Angostura bitters. The Brooklyn Gin has a distinct smooth flavor, unlike anything I've ever had before. I was thinking this would be my nightcap, but am now feeling refreshed... ????Kudos to Brooklyn Gin and to my knowledgeable bartender, Braden! ??“
“We came here for a drink unfashionably early Saturday night and just had the best time. It's cool and fun but not pretentious--great vibe and music. The owners and staff were so friendly and helpful--and the Dr Disco slaps. Can't wait to go back!“
“I've been coming to Mean Max since the Marie days. When they said they were opening a second location in Troy I was skeptical that they would be able to replicate the special place that is Mean Max. But they managed to out do themselves - starting with a proper, larger, sign. Next they placed this tap room right on Monument Square so there are great restaurants around. The tap room is brighter than Glens Falls on account of windows front and back and has its own vibe...but the beer and great customer service is the same. Well...for the most part. They do have a special lager exclusive to this location (quick tip - look up their Glens Falls venue to see the menu at either location). Staff is always friendly and the beer has great variety - of which they all do well. Definitely a place to stop and visit.“
“Nice staff, decent food, great time... my son's band played here, so check them out for live shows! Parking sucks, not the fault of the bar... it's just a Troy fact... also check out @flatwoundsny the band (shameless plug) thanks Eldorado for a great night!“
“Great place for a date with the hubby, but plenty of families there too (Friday night at dinner hour). Burgers were delicious, beer was great, service was quick and friendly.Parking: There's a lot nearby that was free to park. Not sure if it's free during the day or if you need a permit.“
“Wanna give a huge shout out to Kennedy’s cook Tommy!! He Has made that kitchen a well oiled machine..... I strongly suggest ya go in for lunch or dinner.... great food, great prices, great people ... ❤️Kennedy’s .... you will too!! Check it out“
“Great spot, good drinks for decent price! Bartender was a sweetheart. We also did karaoke for $100/hr which seemed a little steep since it was only 5 of us, but it was one of our birthdays so we did it. But still seemed a little high in price. But overall, we had a good time, really cool spot, great decor and overall very friendly staff!“
“The Berlin definitely lives up to its hype of ambience and decor. I've been trying to get up here for almost two years and they did not disappoint! Lauren and the other bartender were helpful and courteous. And they make an excellent Commodore #2! Kudos to Amy, Mickey and their staff for a job well done! Definitely a five star review from the Saratoga Supper Club!“
“We live in Albany but decided to go to Troy for something different to do. Vivian's came up on our Google search for bars, and what a great find. It was late afternoon/early evening so it wasn't very busy. You could tell that it's a local hangout and everyone knew each other. Everyone, including the other customers, were extremely nice and we had about an hour of cocktails, laughs, and conversation. Will definitely go back next time we go to Troy.“
“The 518 has always been our go to spot when in dwntwn Troy! However, this time around they are incorporating different events. They hosted a Latin night ???? with Dominican ?? food from Pataconia on Saturday and it was such a great hit. The vibes and decor are chill, beer options are always delicious along with their cocktail menu, and the artwork submissions from local artists are captivating. Follow their FB page for updated event info. I sure will ?“
“We went here tonight to celebrate my brother's birthday- his choice. The place is very small but it's comfortable. It was a busy Friday night but not once was the crowd overbearing or loud. It felt like we were all just hanging out...chilling. It was actually really awesome how it felt like that. The bartender welcomed us when he realized we were waiting for a table and the waitresses were all very genuinely friendly. Just felt like a nice little family spot you know? The food was amazing and tasted homemade and not the typical "frozen food microwaved or heated up" you find at restaurants. The pasta fagioli was to die for. So much flavor and not heavy at all. The pizza crust we had was a bit dry but the ingredients were fresh and delicious. I loved our waitress. She was truly a wonderful young lady and I'm sorry I forgot her name. Never did we feel rushed or pressured. What a new hidden gem. Thank you for a relaxing night!Parking: parking was a bit of a hassle but people snuck over to the mechanic next door or in back to park!Wheelchair accessibility: This restaurant doesn't have stairs to the entrance (has handicapped parking spaces as well!) and can most likely fit a wheelchair or walker through the door- but just call ahead of time to make sure!“
“Sometimes you have a stressful day at work and need to blow off some steam. This place has gotten me through some rough days and I'll always appreciate it. I often don't enter smiling, but by closing time I'm grinning from ear to ear. They know what helps a person unwind and give their patrons an incredible experience. O'learys has always had a great atmosphere. The background music creates a good vibe and puts me in a better head space. They keep the space clean and tidy, no messes, no sticky floors like a lot of other bars I've frequented. I tend to throw back a couple whiskey sours, the bar tenders are experienced and know how to make a good drink. Although you can't find a better priced beer that tastes this good. Staff's always friendly and overall positive. Some owners never show up and let their business run on their own. But Shawn's constantly nearby and has done great job building this bar into a community. Sometimes, I wish I still lived right nearby so I could stop in for a drink!“
“This restaurant is definitely a place to check out while you’re in Troy. Very unique dishes catered to everyone depending on what you’re craving. Salads, burgers, pasta , vegan dishes . And they even have a pool table if you’re trying to play a few rounds before hitting the bars around town afterwords. This is a nice place to bring friends with you.“
