“While driving across upstate ny I stopped in Utica for the Night. Stopped into this place for a late beer before bed and stayed late chatting with the friendly bartenders. Clearly a locals place I felt totally part of the crew as the bartender told me about the town and introduced me to folks. If I’m ever traveling through the area again I’m making the the Onion my hub. Pop in and get yourself a bulleit rye with a Haus!“

“0 stars! I stopped in and I swear there was a teenage girl hanging out with a bunch guys there, she remained there with who I was told is the head chef. It's absolutely disgusting to see such a young kid surrounded by men who are in their 30s and some looked older than that. I haven't gone back since and I never will.“

“My mom, my sister, my brother, his wife and daughter and my wife and I were looking for a good place for dinner last night and I suggested Gerber's. The last time that my wife and I had been there was pre-pandemic, so it had been awhile. We had a great dinner and incredible service from Joe. Mark, the owner, was gracious and welcoming and his food was excellent. It was a relaxing evening spent in this quaint, local landmark. Great atmosphere and excellent beer selection. We'll be back. “I don’t do many reviews. But this was the 1st time I’ve ever ordered a fish fry from here, and it was a huge piece of fish with great flavor. Most places that serve a huge piece like that usually lacks flavor but not them. Nice staff as well“

“Not gonna lie, I honestly thought this place shut down several years ago. It's open now and just the same as I remember it from before COVID.

It used to be a Browns Backers bar on Sundays, but I'm not sure that's the case anymore. Either way, it's nice to have it back!“

“Stopped in for Valentine's day and found a new favorite spot!! Top notch homemade burgers, highly recommend the Black Bear Burger! It's hard to find a restaurant that understands "rare burger" but this place nailed it! The Pork loin sandwich was delicious with its homemade honey mustard that paired perfectly. Staff was wonderful and the wait was short. We will definitely be back and likely will become regulars to this family run establishment! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!!“

“Went there for a staff party first time. What a cool place I didn't know about! Super cozy, dark woods. Good drinks and we only got fried foods but would love to try some of their other stuff.

Wheelchair accessibility: I only went in through and saw the back door which is NOT accessible for many. Hopefully the front door??“

“Laufer’s has been a go-to date night spot for my wife and I for a while food is top notch! So good that we’ve been there 4 weeks straight for fish tacos during the lent season. Truly a hidden gem with the best food in the area Also, don’t leave without trying desert, you will never regret their deserts!“
