“I live in the Village, I have already been here 3 times before writing a review. First two times I dined in for lunch. Service was fast, the owners are very kind and friendly, price was amazing for chicken rice and beans lunch. It was really good. Today we didn’t have time to cook so we ordered the whole chicken special with 2 sides for $19 crazy good deal!!!. I got 2 sides of rice and we all 6 of us at home ate comfortably. Very happy this
location opened, walden definitely try them if you haven’t.”

“I am orginally from NJ where Taylor ham is king. The Taylor ham egg and cheese sandwich here is the best breakfast sandwich in my bias opinion and the cook makes it to perfection. 4 slices of thick Taylor ham hand sliced and cooked well, 2 fried eggs that are not over cooked and a substatial amount of cheese on a good hard roll. the sandwich itself is heavy and will slow you down but its amazing. I am glad I found this spot its a rare find.”
“Local establishment, full service bar. Food limited to a personal pizza and the usual bagged snacks. Poker league Tuesdays. Touchtunes jukebox, billiards, darts, indoor cornhole.”

“Whoever said the garlic knots were overcooked and burnt lied so hard. These are absolutely perfect, and whoever said the people that run the place aren’t Italian, NEWS FLASH not all pizza places are run by italians. Relax Karens, thanks for great garlic knots. (i’m fully italian trust)”

“⭐️A MUST-VISIT in the Hudson valley! The menu is interesting, fresh, and most importantly delicious. You can really taste the chefs passion in each dish. The lamb ribs and celery salad should be part of everyone’s order. We love the vibe, and the cocktails are also fantastic. ??”

“10/10! First and foremost, this place is so squeaky clean you could eat off the floors. The service staff is terrific and the food is out of this world. Try the Samosas- the pastry is fresh, flaky, buttery and melts in your mouth while the insides are perfectly seasoned (some of the best we've ever had). Dipped in the green chutney or the plum sauce and you're in Heaven. We had the Chicken Rogan Josh and the Chicken Tikka Masala. Along with a Garlic Naan (omg...) All were phenomenal. The chicken was tender, not at all dry, and the sauces were delightful. And can we talk about the Basmati rice... not something that would 'pop' off the menu, but it does. Not only is it cooked perfectly (not a single grain was clumped) but it was also seasoned and so flavorful. A lot of restaurants will skip seasoning the rice as a shortcut & savings, but not this one. It's the little details that make the difference. Great price point as we not only had dinner, but enough leftovers for the BOTH of us for lunch today. Looking forward to going back.”

“My wife has talked up Itzmi for quite some time, but they are not open on Sundays, and because of my busy schedule, it makes dining here a really difficult task. Fortunately, I found myself with no place to be on a Saturday and also in the area. So, the wife and I sallied forth, infiltrated said nipponese bistro, and negotiated the vending of some Keiseki comestibles.
In short, we decided to have lunch!
From the exterior, the establishment looks old - frumpy, if not disheveled. The restaurant is located far in the back of a single level multi-fronted shopping complex. A lone, aging wooden sign with the image of a fish stands post along the busy highway of NY-300 - the only indication that there is an eatery there. Once inside, however, the space opens up to a clean, bright, and modern looking eatery.
The menu boasts many options, ranging from classic Japanese dishes to unique twists and specialty plates. There are not only Japanese dishes but a handful of Korean dishes as well.
The wife orders a Bento, I order two Maki Rolls and a Bulgogi Lunch special.
Brought out hot and steaming on a cast iron skillet, my lunch looked more like a plate of Korean inspired fajitas than anything else - but despite this odd presentation, I am pleased to say that hearing that sizzle, seeing that steam, and smelling that marinated beef began making my mouth drool and my stomach growl.
The food was very good - seasoned nicely and cooked well. My wife enjoyed her bento as well. Where I was disappointed was the Maki...
Now, if you've been following me on my culinary escapades, then you'd know that when it comes to sushi, my biggest peeve is the rice. SEASON THE DAMN SUSHI RICE!!!!! If there is one thing that Asian American eateries don't do enough of, especially Japanese establishments, it's seasoning their sushi rice.
Rice gets washed and then goes into a cooker. Add a little salt. Rice comes out of a cooker. Rice goes into a Hangiri. Rice Vinegar, Mirin and a little white sugar goes into the rice. Use a wooden spoon to slice the rice and evenly distribute these ingredients together, and fan the rice so that it cools and creates a glistening surface on the rice. Congratulations! You have done what 90% of Japanese eateries FAIL to do. I understand that it's a lot of extra work. I get that it's just easier to make one large batch of rice and call it a day - but ask any Japanese Itamae and they'll tell you, the most important factor to sushi making is the rice.
The rice here was seasoned, but badly under seasoned. It makes everything just taste flat. It's like, going to a Greek restaurant and not getting any Tzatsiki for your Gyro, or going to a Mexican restaurant and getting chips, but no salsa. It just doesn't pop.
All-in-all I would say the experience was very good. The service was solid and the waiter was attentive, but you could tell that he just wanted to hurry up and finish his shift so he could go home and watch reruns of Game of Thrones.
I would definitely come back - solid food (if not a little bland on the sushi) - decent pricing and a warm, inviting, and clean space to dine in. Solid 4 out of 5.
Vegetarian options: They have clearly marked Vegetarian rolls, dishes and other Rabbit foods...
Dietary restrictions: If raw fish isn't your thing, then perhaps stay in the cooked side of the menu.
Kid-friendliness: No real kids menu, but plenty of options.
Wheelchair accessibility: Easy accessible front, with handicap parking. Bathrooms are a little tight, but you should be able to manage.”

“Great Service, Great Food and Great Staff, especially Shakira!!! Stopped off there for breakfast on our way to Cooperstown with 2 Buddies and when Shakira was bringing our drinks, my one Buddy stretched and knocked over the drinks that Shakira was carrying and they spilled on her. Shakira didn’t bat an eyelash and laughed about it and remained extremely professional during that accident!!! Great service by her even with that incident happening!!! Would definitely go back there if I was in the area!!!”
