I almost passed Nirvana by, and I’m so glad I didn’t!
I was actually looking for another restaurant that I remembered being at this location, so I was a little confused when I arrived. The exterior and parking area could use a little attention, and there was some standing water in the parking lot, so initially I wasn’t sure if I was going to stop. Thankfully, I did.

Empanada Nirvana is a favorite restaurant in the Montgomery area, known for its amazing and delicious food with something for everyone, including many gluten-free and vegan options. The empanadas are a highlight, with flavors like beef, beef and cheese, and apple pie, featuring crispy and flaky shells with well-seasoned fillings. Other praised items include the Puerto Rican Pernil meal, called the best pork in years, Mexican Street Corn, Alcapurrias, maduro balls, loaded tacos, the hashtag breakfast, and yuka fries described as the best ever. The sausage and peppers and daily specials are also popular.
The atmosphere is welcoming with a vibe of peace, love, and inclusion, and the service is warm and nice. The business is also noted for its generous community support through a pay-it-forward program. Portions are generous, providing great value, with meals often lasting for days. The experience is highly recommended, with many calling it a fantastic and unbelievable find.
