Although I ordered takeout this restaurant serves the best chips with guac hands down in all of NYC! the churrasco steak was 4/5 just because I was expecting a different taste but the steak was juicy nevertheless the rice and beans tasted really good. “They are the best pupusas outside of El Salvador that I’ve ever had.

The curtido is fantastic.

Pupusas are fresh, and super tasty. My favorites are the Pumpkin Flower and Huitlacoche. Great place if you’re a vegetarian, and the meat options are also fantastic.

Now, they sell a really good horchata. And the large horchata is HUGE. A steal for 7 bucks (in NYC).“

“Delicious guacamole, the tortillas were delicious, the pupusas were also very good, the steak was the best, the burrito was fabulous, the chicharrones were everyone's favorite. 10/10 experience would come again. The waiter was so sweet and helpful. The food was so authentic and delicious and reminded us of the food we ate in our hometowns in Guatemala!“

“I have had a CANGREJOFONGO. It is mashed fried green plantain with crab meat. It tasted very well. No other place nearby makes this. It is prepared from scratch. It may take a while. The taste is worth the wait.I have had 3 pupusas with cheese and loroco. The tomatoe sauce has a great taste. The curtido also tastes good.I have also had a beef soup. This is so well cooked. The meat fell off the bone. They offered green hot sauce but it was not needed.I will continue coming here. They also do deliveries.“

“I don’t write reviews often, but WOW! This restaurant is absolutely fantastic. When I tried to put in this review after my meal, I seen that it only had 4.2 stars. When I asked the hostess how could this be, she told me that the restaurant is now under a new management and has completely changed directions.

I cannot speak on the past, but if my current experience at this restaurant is the new norm, then I wish you guys nothing but success!

Attention was great , the atmosphere was pleasant , most of the food was good but the tostones , patacones : they were from the frozen section of the super . They were not fresh , they were stale and quite flavorless . A restaurant should always offer fresh food , doing otherwise is a disrespect to the customer. This is not the first restaurant in college point that offers frozen stale fried green plantains . I have experienced this in many Latino restaurants . Strangely do You know where the patacones are always fresh : At the college point Chinese restaurants . So owner make a note and tell your cook to stop being lazy .“

“Usuluteco is another hole in the wall restaurant in Brooklyn where if you drive by too fast you would never see it . Let face it the abundance of traffic parked cars it new York but again I wasn't awhere they were on Google or else I would have taken more pictures the entrance is simple enough I know it winter but I would recommend palms ? at entrance when you get inside it pretty basic but they do have some Spanish song playing on bluer tooth to give it a little ambience tables are chairs are simple .the service was great was greeted as soon as I walked in I like that I went with some friends our waitress/ server attended to us immediately I had the pork chops and a coke it came with rice and peppers I was unsure but it tasted amazing ? and the rice was perfectly cook not a burn grain in site . Food preparation was good Instead of dumping porkchops ? on plate they added a Hugh piece of lettuce then putting the pork chops on top give it some color and style the pork chops were tender not tough (surprise surprise) well seasoned, for some reason when spanish restaurants cook pork chops thry feel the need to dry them out leaving the meat vey tough and hard to chew not at usuluteco they went a different direction , and the rice came out of bowl it gave a mound shape on the plate very traditional an old style that i see is now coming back well put together . These simple touches makes a big difference in customers coming back I would definitely go back and must stop by spot in Brooklyn..
