SILVIA Reviews
We had a special couples meal tonight at Silvia . The hostess greeted us with a smile and showed us to a corner table ; perfect for a one on one chat . Our server Ally was knowledgeable and very personable ..on her recommendation we started with a house-made ginger rosemary non alcoholic drink ..wow ! Then we had oysters and the prosciutto and figs ..both were excellent ..our mains were the mushroom and asparagus over pasta and the smoked pork chop on polenta ..OUTSTANDING . SILVIA is a restaurant that offers a diverse menu with both exceptional and average dishes. The staff is attentive, especially when customers have young children. The restaurant serves standout items like the scallops, chicken schnitzel, crudo, oysters, and halloumi. However, some customers found the sea scallop to be overly salty, though the corn gravy helped to save the dish. The restaurant has a decent atmosphere and service, though it may be considered a bit pricey by some.
The recently added reviews praise the restaurant's exceptional food quality, with one customer describing the pork chop as the best they've ever had. Customers also highlight the restaurant's non-pretentious atmosphere, good service, and the fact that the food is simply incredibly well prepared. The drinks and wine list are also praised, with the restaurant's practice of bringing the wine bottle to the table for a taste even when ordering a glass being appreciated.
The reviews also mention the restaurant's beautiful interior and exterior, renovated with original architectural details and charm, as well as its seasonal menu prepared with local ingredients. The restaurant is described as a perfect representation of the spirit of the Catskills, a special place for many.
