“Kind of a hidden, hard to find spot in alliance despite being right on state street but it’s definitely worth a visit. Their cheeseburgers with their very own “hood sauce” are delicious and while it’s odd they don’t serve fries, they do have great cheesy potatoes that pair well. Very affordable and they have Kona big wave on draft which not all bars do. Atmosphere is interesting.“

“This can’t be ran by the same lady as the 44 in Atwater! PLEASANTLY SURPRISED!!! I wish I would’ve given it a chance sooner, the name turned me off because the other 44 is so poorly ran and (honestly) disgusting. The remodel looks great! It seems like whoever is running it has actual pride in their community and the environment that they are privileged enough to add to it! It’s not covered in dust, and dare I say it looks CLEAN (which isn’t always a requirement in a dive bar, but it is for me if I’m eating food), and the staff seems competent. Not quite a friendly/personable staff, but they could have probably used an extra server. Excited to have this in Berlin!“

“Shillings Mill is a definite must. For people looking for an off the beat in path, whole in the wall, kind of place this is perfect. There are a couple of little signs that let you know you are in the right place. Just had a couple of beers but we will definitely be back. The bartender was friendly and the beer was cold.“
