“We loved it! Comfortable and not stuffy ambience Friendly attentive and helpful service Our table ordered the following and loved every bit! Baked Brie enough to share 3-4 people. Completely melted and still warm. Loved the toast Brussel sprouts flatbread special app generous portion and amazing flavors Brussel sprout salad more like a slaw but very good. Enough to share Brisket mushroom stroganoff. Ohio City pasta. Well coated with a rich comforting sauce and tasty tender brisket! Strip steak on corn risotto with burratta cheese and small salad. Easy dish to skip a sep salad with this entree. All in one! The strip was a huge thick cut and a Kalamata olive tapenade. All of these flavors and I could not resist ordering this. It did not disappoint, worth every bit of the $48 price Shared a slice of house made carrot cake. Moist and classic And a berry crumble with ice cream. Cranberries I. This made for a tart twist. But the vanilla ice cream balanced it all out We loved 1815 for our first visit. We will def be back!“

“On February 3rd (2024) four of us enjoyed a relaxing and delicious evening at Six Horses Tavern. I was searching for a cozy place and did not expect to find such a prize in a hotel. It is my understanding that the very talented couple running the tavern actually own the business within the hotel. Kudos to them! The service was gracious, the menu was refreshingly creative and delectable, and the setting lovely.Parking: Easy parking just in front of the hotel entrance.“

“AURORA's PLACE for FOODIES!James Place has always been our Friday date night spot because of the friendly atmosphere with comfort food, libations and regulars. With the new year, the tables are set with linen and white china-the perfect background for Chef Ian's rotating and creative cuisine. An eclectic shuffling of melodies flow through the cozy space. My most recent experience was a delight. The strip steak was seasoned and grilled to perfection accompanied by potatoes lyonnaise and steamed broccoli. Not only delicious but a beautiful presentation emphasized by Brandon's twirl of the plate. Dessert of poached baby Bosc pear in Beaujolais sauce ended dinner on a high note. And what's not to love about sipping a Caymus Cabernet by the glass?Bravo to the James Gang for their continuous efforts toward excellence in food, service and atmosphere :) Reservations highly recommended!“

The Barn American • $$$
700 S Bissell Rd, Aurora

“We celebrated my husband’s 40th with a trip to Inn Walden and visited The Barn for dinner. The space was cozy, yet modern and the staff was lovely. Our server provided great recommendations and was incredibly friendly. The cocktails were delicious and we even got an amuse bouche and outstanding focaccia bread to start our lovely meal. My husband ordered the French onion soup and filet and everything was done perfectly. I got the Cesar salad and scallops and was very pleased. It was the Friday before Christmas, so the restaurant was slow, which may have given us some extra attention, but I wouldn’t have minded if service was slower as the ambiance was great and food was very worth it. We can’t wait to come back!“
