“Adonica was great to work with! She instantly saw our vision and knew exactly what we wanted. Our cake was absolutely beautiful and we couldn't be more happy! The chocolate/peanut butter cake was delicious! We would highly recommend to anyone in the Dayton area!“

“I'm a regular have eaten at Grist at least twenty times and it's ALWAYS good. This restaurant crafts the most amazing, 100% homemade, unique culinary delights that are so far elevated beyond what you typically find around downtown or even Dayton at large. The dishes, soups, and desserts are consistently excellent. While the service is usually fast, when they are busy, the food can take a while. I once waited nearly thirty minutes for a sandwich. They apologized and gave me one of their amazing chocolate chip cookies to make up for the long wait. The price can be a touch high for a lunch, but the quality and portion sizes are there. I see a lot of new staff so I can tell the owners are working on the improving their processes and service speed. Also the staff are always super nice and helpful. Thank you Grist for being in downtown Dayton.“

“Awesome pies and brownies! I occasionally pop in around lunch time and grab a bunch of random slices (whatever they haven't sold out of that day) to share with co-workers. Have never had a bad one yet and everyone loves them! Service is always top-notch too!“

“We had an absolutely infuriating experience with Butter Cafe, which I'll never go to again, so after being completely skipped on the waiting list, we zipped over to this place and sat at the counter, and had the best godamn breakfast I've had in my entire life. That was 2 years ago, and I can't stop thinking about how good this food is.“

“My sister and I stopped in on a busy Friday afternoon to get a little pick-me-up, and I'm so glad we did! My soy chai latte was amazing (whatever soy milk they use made a delicious foam on top) and my sister really enjoyed her drink as well. Everyone working was so kind and the atmosphere of the place was so inviting. If I were local, I'd be here frequently.“

“How is it that this place is less than 10 minutes from me and I’d never been there until today? All I can say about the pretzels is they are AMAZING. The lady handed me my bag of pretzels and they were nice and warm. I couldn’t wait until I got home to eat one, so I ate it one in the car. My first time here but definitely not my last. Your pretzels rock!“

“The pretzels are excellent and this is worth a stop if you are in Dayton. I would even say it is worth a road trip. If you are like me, I had never eaten a fresh pretzel from a bakery before so opening up a bag of a half dozen pretzels and trying a fresh, out of the oven, pretzel was a new experience and I am not going back. My recommendation: get some fresh pretzels and a bag of frozen along with them. The frozen pretzels can be warmed up in the microwave, oven, or air fryer. I would say they are at about 95% the same experience as the fresh pretzels out of their oven.“

“I don't recall how I originally learned about Boosalis; I think it was on some award list of best bakeries perhaps? Whatever the reason, I had it on my list of places to try when I was in Dayton early last year, but I wasn't able to make it there that visit. This time around, I couldn't miss out and went in on a weekday morning. Inside, I was greeted by a number of customers sitting around, eating pastries, and sipping on coffee. The pastry case in front was fully stocked with some very delicious looking croissants and other delights. We had a tough time deciding what to get - we wanted to try everything, but we didn't have the stomach space! After pondering for a while, we made our decision. Chocolate Croissant ($3.65) - Two small chocolate batons are baked into this pastry at the bottom, as is tradition. They are not too sweet and add a very nice cocoa richness that works well with the croissant. The rest of the croissant is buttery with well laminated layers that meld together but are also fluffy. The top few layers are crispy and well browned. They flake off easily in buttery flecks. I found this croissant to be pretty cheap for a chocolate croissant from an artisan bakery and overall found this to be a solid chocolate croissant in general. (4/5) Kouign Amann ($2.85) - This kouign amann is pretty small - around 2 inches across. There's melted caramelized sugar surrounding the edges and in a layer on the bottom. Additional sweetness from pearl sugar is added right in the center of the pastry. The pastry is very well laminated, with distinct layers that peel off easily. The dough seems to be salted a bit and has a somewhat bitter flavor to it. It doesn't seem like the dough itself is sweetened at all, so the middle portion is buttery, but not sweet. it's not nearly as buttery as the chocolate croissant though and there's larger air pockets compared to the croissant. There's a good crunch on the outside from both the browned dough and the sugar on the outside. (4/5) I can see why Boosalis Baking and Cafe is popular. Both pastries we tried were solid and I can easily recommend the place if you're looking for something nice for breakfast or just a treat for yourself.“

“I genuinely appreciate Ghostlight's vegan offerings. Even though Dayton is the sixth most populous city and the state's fourth-largest metropolitan area, the vegan selections in Dayton are pretty slim, so having a coffee house that has great treats and drinks that a vegan can imbibe is very much appreciated.“

“We've been eating here for years. Did not see a change in quality after the change of ownership. Wish they would bring back the free muffin on your birthday thing, because it was a tradition with my kids. But where can you go wrong with a cheesecake muffin.“

“Ordered 12oz hot Van. Latte, 12oz hot Mocha, The Farmer w/ham, The Lunch bagel w/ham. Not my typical coffee flavor profile, but it was delicious. We could clearly taste the fruity notes. They were out of bagels, but the sandwhiches on English muffins were tastey. Quick friendly service. Was hoping for a bigger baked goods selection .. wanted that basic choc. Chip cookie ?. Will deff. be back! This was Midtown location & had easy access for parking.“

Attentive staff. Reasonably fast service. Eat in or take out. Has a small, clean, bright, and quiet dining area. Moderate prices. Nearby municipal or free street parking. A few tables on the sidewalk for outdoor dining.“
“I was torn between the Chocolate Mousse cake and the Black Forest Cake. Andie’s Cakery/Kelly was so patient with me when I was trying to make my decision. I ended up with a Chocolate Black Forest Cake — the best of both worlds! Funny thing is I am typically not a big chocolate fan but this cake was amazing! It was so moist and so delicious! It was my birthday cake and my family thoroughly enjoyed it! I found a new place to buy all my cakes!!! Thank you, Andie’s Cakery!“
“Very cute and homey market with plenty of food options and great local vendors! Everyone is very friendly and I think this is a great place to get local produce and other items. I would def stop by for lunch if I'm in the area too. I love that it's indoors so you can access it year round.“

“I have never had a more pleasant experience at an establishment than I have at Graeter's in Beavercreek. The manager at the time, Kyle, was extremely patient and kind. Kyle went above and beyond to spoon-feed me taste samples as my recent surgery required my arms to be restricted. I eventually ordered a milkshake for easier consumption, but Kyle insisted on spoon-feeding me a triple scoop banana split with hot fudge, strawberry topping, whipped cream, pecans, and a cherry. Kyle was a blessing and gave me hope that this world still has wholesome and generous people. Kyle's hospitality and professionalism is amazing.“
