Tupelo Honey Southern Kitchen & Bar offers a pleasant patio dining experience with a comfortable atmosphere. The menu features southern classics like shrimp & grits and blackened shrimp gumbo, as well as unique options such as fried green tomatoes and collard greens. Despite some menu changes over time, dishes like fried chicken and shrimp & grits remain delicious. The service is friendly and attentive, with staff ensuring drinks are always refilled. Visitors praise the tasty meals, including the roasted chicken salad and the lunch combo of fried chicken with cheddar, pickles, and tomato on Texas toast, along with a 1/2 Caesar salad. The restaurant is known for its lively atmosphere, spotless cleanliness, and accommodating staff, making it a popular choice for both locals and visitors. Guests have enjoyed the outside patio, especially on beautiful evenings, and appreciate the good food and friendly service. Brunch offerings include fantastic drinks and delicious biscuit appetizers, though some find the main meals good but not outstanding. The fried chicken is often praised as wonderful, though some dishes like Brussel sprouts can be overcooked. Service can sometimes feel a bit under staffed, but overall, the restaurant provides a welcoming environment with tasty southern dishes and a lively vibe.
