“I cannot recommend Song Lan more! I cannot believe this evening was my first time stopping in. I’ve been meaning to check it out for quite some time. However, I organized a meetup for dinner at North Market before a comedy show in Bridge Park and North Market was unexpectedly closed for a private event. A friend and I went separate ways to find a place that could get 10 of us in last minute. The staff was so kind and sat us in a beautiful back room. Our waitress was so kind, the atmosphere was perfect, and the food was out of this world amazing! Cannot wait to go back!“

I lived in Japan for 12 years and the nostalgia I felt here was delightful. I even got to speak Japanese with the staff and they were extremely polite due to their culture. Probably my favorite spot so far in Columbus Ohio“

“Great food & service. Wife & I eat here at least once per week. With family we usually eat at hibachi or tepal tables. If just us 2 we eat sushi or hibachi meals in the regular part of the restaurant. Great people work here. Have dined here for years.“

“Went to this place a few weeks ago it was very busy, but the staff did not fail to please. I never went without a drink and my food was amazing. We tried the scallops and fillet and the egg yolk sauce. Best Japanese food in the Columbus area. I would definitely recommend trying this out if you like hibachi food.“

“Our first time. The two of us shared the steamed shrimp and vegetables with garlic sauce. We shared a large seafood hot & sour soup. Both dishes we delicious . The shrimps were plentiful , nice sized , and tasty . The hot&sour soup was packed with mushrooms, shrimp, scallops, tofu, and artificial crab. It was the best we've ever had !

Portions. were generous. The price was fair for what was served. . Our server was very efficient and friendly.

For carry out I'd give it s 5. For eat-in its a 3.5 because its small and somewhat crowded with 3 small booths and two tables amongst several large aquariums and large house plants.. However, it was kind of quaint in a quirky way.“

“Went for lunch had the steak and shrimp it was very tasty. I could take or leave the yum yum. The ginger sauce was delicious. But the food was so good it didn't need any sauce. The portions are huge. Also had the crab rangoons they were delicious too.“

“First time visiting Asahi. Arrived shortly after 5 pm. Was casually busy, but was seated immediately. Waitress was quick in starting a drink order and getting our order in. Our Hibachi Chef was pleasant and entertaining. We all had the hibachi chicken and everyone enjoyed it. Nice atmosphere. All the staff were polite and helpful. My family and I will definitely dine here again in the future.“

He was pretty busy this evening but still made the time to say Happy birthday to my kiddo and the food was still top notch. As long as Mr. Kim is there, this will remain my favorite sushi spot. 🍣“

“Went here for a company lunch outing and overall had a great experience. The food and service were both solid—our party of 8 was well taken care of, and everyone enjoyed their meals. Our chef was friendly and entertaining, doing all the classic hibachi tricks and gags. While not quite as impressive as some chefs I've seen at other Japanese steakhouses, he still made it fun. The only downside was that they were actively training staff at the table directly behind us during our lunch, which felt a bit out of place and slightly distracting. Otherwise, a good spot for group dining.“

“My gentleman and I are from out of town and found this place. The food was delicious! The hot & sour soup was so flavorful! I did a 'create your own' with chicken, veggies and the teriyaki... yum! My gentleman got the pepper steak and the steak was tender and delicious. The crab rangoons were so delicious also. They have a craft soda in their beverage machine.... o yea! The only negative was that the crab rangoons were a little light on the filling.“
