“I had the turkey burger...again. I'm not usually a big "turkey burger guy," but I tried it once and it was really good. It's so good that I've had it the last 4 times I've been there. “Drove an hour down there, it was a Saturday evening. It wasn't too busy. Walking in right away you are taken back in time, swinging doors, an atmosphere like a cozy old home from the 19th century. We ordered some drinks I did head back through the bar to get to the restroom, little tight but adequate I suspect for the size of the venue. We both had the staple Zip's Burger. I really liked everything about the place, the food was great. Waitress was very attentive. Really well done. I think it lives up to the hype. I really appreciate simple places like this in today's day an age. You get to walk out modernity for a minute and remember life wasn't always on a cell phone. Anyways Thank You Zip's.“

“Best burgers in town hands down! Love the laid back atmosphere. Prices are very reasonable and the food is great! Also love the simplicity of this restaurant. Not a lot of glam, they just stick to what matters great food and great & friendly staff! Don't know how I didn't know about this place sooner but so glad I do now!

“My family and I was there today to celebrate my mothers birthday, we ABSOLUTELY loved the food them ribs are to die for, however the memorable part was our server Tonya, I think I’m saying her name right, she was AMAZING I mean she engaged with my mom and son like if she was apart of the Family and THAT took us right away, the only downside was by the time we had received our drinks she was no longer our server which REALLY upset my mother, However the new server was nice she just wasn’t her,,, we LOVE the spot and enjoyed the whole atmosphere and my mother and Family DEFINITELY will be back we just hope that we run into that server Tonya again!!! “I love a good diner atmosphere and this is a good one. The Steph’s Sampler was delicious, pancakes were huge so, I could only eat one. My better half ordered the eggs Benedict club and the most disappointing part of the dish was, the eggs were overcooked. The exciting thing about eggs Benedict is, when you cut through the egg, the yolk run throughout the dish to add that extra creaminess to the hollandaise sauce. Other than that, the service was great and the price is competitive with most breakfast/lunch spots.“

“Last time we came here we had a gift card for Oakley kitchen, and the man working at the time (April 16th 2024 actually) did sketches and drawings and was super nice, (also the burgers are phenomenal) he figured out how to use the gift card perfectly fine and even rung us up a second time for another order. We came again today and they suddenly can’t take the gift card, it’s a 100 dollar gift card and there’s only four places even open here with fat Al’s being one of the two places we’re interested in. Really dissapointing as it was used perfectly fine the last time TWICE and we drove half an hour to get here specifically for their burgers. The manager was on the phone and said they were one of the last people to switch to using a card (or something like that??) but again it worked last time we came so that doesn’t make any sense :/ our visit today was on 4/30/24.“

It was much quieter We had a good conversation with our friends. The waitress was excellent. The food was delicious. I got a Virginia burger with apple butter, camelionzed onions, bacon and american cheese. I loved the apple butter ? I also love the astro tuff and big tent. It's a great little spot to sit outside by the river ?“

“Food was excellent, well above average "pub food." I had the lobster roll, excellent taste. The cracklin' cabbage was also fresh, crisp and tasty. We were seated outside on the upper patio, there is a lower area where a few people had dogs. Fun place, service was excellent. Definitely recommend if you are looking for a casual place with great food!

Parking: There are a couple of small lots near the restaurant. Might be tight if you are driving a larger SUV or truck.“

“El Barril is a really awesome Mexican joint we found in Mount Adam's in Cincinnati. It had both indoor and outdoor seating but on this day we decided on the inside. The restaurant looks really super fun with lots of tremendous decor with even the chairs being unique (and comfortable too.) They had a lot of unique takes on Mexican dishes (lots of unique burgers on the menu for one) as well as some classic favourites. We started with an appetizer of Buffalo Chicken Dip which was a straightforward take on it. It had lot's of chicken, a very flavourful but not too spicy Buffalo sauce, and some blue cheese mixed in. It was served with chips. This was as good of take as I've had on a Buffalo Dip that I've had from anyplace. For my main course I tried the Bang Bang Shrimp Tacos which was 3 hard tacos served with grilled shrimp topped with spicy Bang Bang sauce as well as cilantro. This was very unique but very delicious all the same. The shrimp was cooked perfectly and that sauce I would describe as zesty with a slight punch but not too much. Really liked them a lot. My wife enjoyed her Margarita as well as her food (I believe it was a pork dish but I forgot to take a picture). This was a super fantastic lunch and I for one can't wait to come back.“
