“Ok so we’ve dined at Old Scratch Troy location about 6 times since it’s opened. Waited a bit to give them time to really get in their groove. While I do recommend the place. Pizza is good, staff is nice (especially Amanda at the bar) and shareables are tasty. That said I would like to see the food’s taste be a little more consistent. My favorite dish is the fire roasted cauliflower but sadly it hasn’t been prepared the same way twice with the last two times it was barely seasoned at all once it was almost raw. Hopefully as training continues they will fix that issue.“

The entire restaurant is beautifully decorated and you can truly feel the culture and care that went into creating such a warm atmosphere. The moment we walked in, we felt welcomed. Our waitress, Stasha (I apologize if I spelled her name wrong), was absolutely wonderful. She clearly knows her job very well. From the moment she came to our table, she made an instant connection with us and was incredibly kind and attentive. She even took time to talk with the kids, brought them toys, and surprised our son with birthday ice cream, which was such a thoughtful touch. She also knew a lot about the menu and the events they host on certain days and made several recommendations — and she was absolutely right about all of them. The food was incredible: flavorful, authentic, and beautifully prepared. Everything we tried was spot on. We started off with pretzel bites, hot and delicious! Started off with cups of gumbo, perfect on a cold rainy day! Great soup loaded with shrimp, chicken and sausage. It was awkward on Valentine's weekend as the tables were so close in the area I was sat that it felt like we were sitting at a table with strangers. Be careful with to go, the bourbon sauce will spill out of the box into the saran wrap they put around it. Ask for your sauce on the side to avoid the mess. They always make sure you get exactly what you want and go the extra mile! I've become a regular here very quickly. I live in the neighborhood and I'm very grateful there is a place affordable with great food that me and kids can enjoy! Love this place!“

This is the old school American-Chinese place you want it to be with the classic dishes: sweet and sour and hot mustard containers (not packets) presented with the appetizers, a hot and sour soup so much better than any in the area, and an extremely friendly staff. If I had a negative, it’s the fried rice, it just felt a little flat compared to everything else… but mixed with the chicken and sauce was still delicious. I don’t live close by but will find reasons to visit here.“

From the moment we walked in, the experience was excellent. The restaurant appears to be a converted small diner with a very clean, welcoming atmosphere, and you can see much of the food being prepared—which adds to the experience and gives you confidence in the care they put into everything.

They started us with a complimentary appetizer soup that was simple but incredibly good—a light, flavorful clear broth with noodles and chicken that set the tone for the meal.

For my entrée, I had the green chicken curry, and it was excellent. Great flavor, fresh ingredients, and balanced spice without overpowering the dish. You could tell it was made with care and not rushed.

To finish, I had the mango sticky rice for dessert, and it was fantastic—the perfect ending to the meal. Fresh mango, great texture, and just the right amount of sweetness.

But what really stood out was the service. Everyone was extremely friendly and welcoming, and the whole place felt genuinely family run in the best way possible.

Excellent food, excellent people, excellent experience. I’ll definitely be back.

The food is great and always fresh, I consider it down home cooking, I believe they take pride in cooking unlike fast food restaurants. The prices are always at a good price. I have never been disappointed. Now the only drawback is the drive thru window takes about a good 20 minutes at the fastest so prepare to wait but it’s worth it!“
