“Massive portions, fresh ingredients, clearly homemade with no shortcuts. This is the old school American-Chinese place you want it to be with the classic dishes: sweet and sour and hot mustard containers (not packets) presented with the appetizers, a hot and sour soup so much better than any in the area, and an extremely friendly staff. If I had a negative, it’s the fried rice, it just felt a little flat compared to everything else… but mixed with the chicken and sauce was still delicious. I don’t live close by but will find reasons to visit here.“

“Very interesting place. The fire truck backdrop to the bar kinda sets the tone. Tables and seating are nicely laid out. Good menu... lots to choose from. Waitstaff very attentive. Meals were plentiful and tasty. All four folks in our group were quite pleased. The crowning touch was probably the infectious laughter coming from a lady 🤣 at a table on the other side of the room. Turns out she is the owner of the place, and well liked by all the waitstaff around us. Always a good sign to have a good time.“

“I am absolutely smitten. Kevin (a host) from Coldwater Cafe was just self motivated to call my personal line from a number he got from my Valentines reservation. I thought I forgot something there last night, but no. It was to tell me that Coldwater was serving one of my favorite soups today and he remembered that I loved it. What he didn't know is I already had a cup to go in the fridge from last night as he wasn't working when we came in for dinner. There is really no other restaurant local to Miami County that equals Coldwater's food, environment, staff, and overall experience. How incredibly thoughtful. Just love that kid and the whole establishment. It's one of the only local restaurants that delivers the whole package every time. Just wow.“

“Ok so we’ve dined at Old Scratch Troy location about 6 times since it’s opened. Waited a bit to give them time to really get in their groove. While I do recommend the place. Pizza is good, staff is nice (especially Amanda at the bar) and shareables are tasty. That said I would like to see the food’s taste be a little more consistent. My favorite dish is the fire roasted cauliflower but sadly it hasn’t been prepared the same way twice with the last two times it was barely seasoned at all once it was almost raw. Hopefully as training continues they will fix that issue.“

Our server tonight was Jamie, and she was damn near the best server I’ve ever had! Her recommendations were spot on, her hospitality was unmatched, and it was a wonderful experience.

I went with some coworkers, and we all tried different things, and we shared 3 appetizers. EVERYTHING we tried was so yummy

Everything was fresh, and it was evident that it was made with love. As someone who rarely eats out due to a preference for preparing fresh meals, Ms. Rhea has undoubtedly changed my perspective. I always get a smile, a wave 👋 and a good conversation about anything, even plumbing when I was having issues. 🤔 I usually walk the market, thinking I get something new, but always return to my favorite place, invoke. If they're out of something they always improvise and create something new and sometimes better. Meat eater, veggie or vegan this place has you covered. From the moment we walked in, the experience was excellent. The restaurant appears to be a converted small diner with a very clean, welcoming atmosphere, and you can see much of the food being prepared—which adds to the experience and gives you confidence in the care they put into everything.

They started us with a complimentary appetizer soup that was simple but incredibly good—a light, flavorful clear broth with noodles and chicken that set the tone for the meal.

For my entrée, I had the green chicken curry, and it was excellent. Great flavor, fresh ingredients, and balanced spice without overpowering the dish. You could tell it was made with care and not rushed.

To finish, I had the mango sticky rice for dessert, and it was fantastic—the perfect ending to the meal. Fresh mango, great texture, and just the right amount of sweetness.

But what really stood out was the service. Everyone was extremely friendly and welcoming, and the whole place felt genuinely family run in the best way possible.

Excellent food, excellent people, excellent experience. I’ll definitely be back.

“Simply the best, most authentic Mexican food in Dayton, Ohio. There streak verde is amazing as are their soft tacos, burritos, Mexican grilled shrimp and Pork Carnitas. On the weekend, try their Mexican soups like Menudo, Goat Soup and Pezzoli. Their hot salsas and chips and house salsa are to die for. The staff is friendly and courteous, and the food is always excellent and for a great price. That is why they are have been rated "The Best of Dayton" by the community for years.“

The liquor side isn't giant, so if your particular about sports, you may not get exactly what you're looking for, but they have the basics.
