“Great variety of soul food. Restaurant is not for dining inside. 4 stars instead of 5 because the server assured us all of our food and beverage items were packed in the bags but we later discovered after leaving the establishment that they were not.“

“Having a tip automatically added to the bill of two people is off-putting. For the record, I'm a good Tipper. I did actually add to the 15% automatically added because our server was awesome. But tipping is an addition, not part of the bill. Heck, add it to the cost of the food and I'll pay it. but not in tipping. that's my choice.“

“Food was outstanding. Beef ribs literally fell off the bone flavorful, and juicy. Greens were absolutely great, mac nd cheese and candied yams were just how they are expected to be, delicious. As a truck driver when I run across great food it's appreciated. After a great meal their house Kool aid was like childhood. I loved it. Thanks for the great eats and service.“

“This place was really good! Definitely recommend the banana pudding, Mac n cheese, and the fries! I also enjoyed the coleslaw, it is made with a mustard base. It was my first time having coleslaw that wasn't mayo or vinegar based, and now I don't want coleslaw without mustard! Not gonna lie... dipping the fries into the coleslaw or their wing sauce... makes the fries even better (and they are already great!)“

“I was riding by and so happen to catch the name with my eyes, I've heard of mama Joyce's but I didn't know they were right on Lee rd. I decided to check them out I had the catfish sandwich on white bread no cheese extra tarter sauce and added onions as well as a side of dirty rice, I ordered my wife a wing dinner fried hard with greens and Mac and added a side of yams, I waited about 35-40 mins, when I say the food came out piping hot and tasted like each dish was just made individually for me!!! The catfish was so hot crunchy on the outside inside was soft it melts in your mouth, if anyone is familiar with Hot Sauce Williams the catfish tasted just like theirs use too when it was fresh and hot I took a half of a bite and one chew and it brought back beautiful memories of Hot Sauce Williams, seasoned to perfection, the wings were piping hot and crunchy seasoned perfectly the Mac and cheese was homemade fresh great cheese pull taste wonderful the greens were dam near perfect I like to add chilli flakes and or hot sauce to mine but once again they were hot, fresh and seasoned perfectly the yams were perfectly sweetened not too sweet and the juices weren't overly thick and sweet the yams were very tender but still had bite they were perfect. Lastly was the cornbread with fresh corn baked inside which was a very pleasant surprise cornbread was very good baked to perfection cornbread was very tasty and moist I'm sure the soul bowl with corn bread base would be to die for lol, the MJ sauce was also a surprising little touch the sauce is sweet and tangy with a nice spicy finish I enjoyed it on both the fish and chicken, my wife was hooked, she tried to come back today but unfortunately I think they are closed due to the snow storm but I will be returning this week haha excellent job guys!“

“Omg I was not expecting to have the best lobster of my life coming here.. we stopped in for food cuz they are open late.. and got the fried lobster n omg!!!! 🫠🤤🤤🤤 it was the best I ever had seriously!! Our bartender was Florida she was a whole vibe and the chefs name is O n he is a G with that dam lobster!!!

“The food is absolutely delicious! I am going on my 3rd year of a meatless diet and I am so happy to have discovered this place of business. Everything was flavorful and those sweet potato muffins were so moist. I highly recommend trying them out whether you are a vegetarian or not, you will enjoy the food! 😋“

“I got the two 6 oz. pork chop dinner meal.
Cabbage and candied yams as the sides. Everything was well seasoned and well prepared. And the gentleman running the drive through was very pleasant. Honesty way better than I could have ever expected.“

“All of my food was fresh and seasoned to perfection the only critique I have were my fries were really soggy and our cornbread was super dry but my catfish was sooooo good and my Mac and cheese was everything I wanted and more my husband loved his porkchop meal I tried his collard greens and they were perfect as well this was our first time trying and you are now my go to spot for some soul food thank you guys so much!!!“

“Went to Sylk’s this evening on Mayfield Road. Tasha the manager challenged me that she’d have me done and satisfied in 7 minutes or less. She did it in 6. Plus she handled other orders. I am was elated. Keep it up Sam!“

“I called ahead thinking I could grab my lunch quickly, but it ended up taking about 40 minutes from start to finish. I had to pull up, pay, and then wait for my food instead of just picking it up, which was a little inconvenient for a lunch break—but manageable. Lately, it seems like a lot of business have been having issues with people ordering and not actually coming to pay and get their food. Making it harder on everyone else. They don’t do DoorDash, which is a sucks when it’s a busy day.

That said, the food is absolutely worth it. The pork chop dinner is hands down the best in Cleveland, and the pork chop sandwich I grabbed for a coworker surprised her too. I’ve been coming here for years, even after moving away, and it’s still the same top-tier pork chops. Worth the wait, even if the pickup process could be a bit smoother.“

“I just tried Mattie Ruth's for the first time and I got the smothered pork chops with tomatoes with okra, mac and cheese. It was the best tasting food. The porkchops were so good that the made me cry. I will eat here again, just might be lunch today.“
