“Decided to stop in and give this place a try. Waitress was friendly and got our drinks to us quickly. We both ordered cheese burgers with fries and it did seem to take longer that I would have thought to get them prepared. There was only a few other people in there and most already had their food so I don't think that was the problem. The burgers were very good but they were also pretty greasy so if you don't like messy burgers you might pick something else. Over all I enjoyed my visit and I plan on stopping back in as soon as possible to try more things off the menu.“
“Great place to eat! I got the chicken fried steak sandwich and it was one of the best ones I’ve had in a long time. Huge piece of meat perfectly cooked, good crunch, not greasy at all with great flavor. The Staff were friendly and nice and the place was clean. I definitely will be back.“
“The food was absolutely delicious. Got the pulled pork sandwich special and it was plenty of food for 7 dollars. Everything was moist perfectly cooked. It's just a little slow getting the food because it looks like he was in there alone but worth the “
“I occasionally go to Kitchen 44 with a friend who likes to spring for food for me, if I hang out with her whilst she gambles. So, what I have noticed over time is that the prices on the menu here keep rising, while the options gradually shrink. I mean, if I'm not mistaken, things like a chicken fried steak platter with two sides, run about $14.00, and the Chef's salad (which is what I typically get) runs about $9.50. The Chef's salad is nowhere near being worth that! On a trip to Kitchen 44 a couple of months ago, I got the salad, which, in my experience comes with three condiment cups of dressing. In this particular instance, I was given two of the cups of dressing, which, really wasn't going to be enough (and I'm not a huge user of dressing). So, I requested another of the cups of dressing, to which the guy behind the counter said "Sure, but I'm going to have to charge you for it". This hadn't been the prior practice, and I didn't want to have my friend - who was already being kind enough to get me the salad - absorb yet another needless cost, so I just told the guy to forget about it, and I went on to eat my - slightly drier, but good - salad. I didn't complain about what happened in this instance, simply because it would have been silly to do so, but I kept it in mind. And yes, I have been to Kitchen 44 a few times since...I get the salad, as usual, and guess what? I get three condiment cups of dressing EVERY TIME, without asking. The guy who was giving me a hard time about the dressing that night? I don't know, but I haven't seen him since. The bottom line being, that Kitchen 44 is a decent place to eat, as long as you can handle the prices for food that is basically diner-type fare, and if you can handle the occasional staff member who is a little on the surly side.“
“Yesterday was the first time I've been there. For my first meal it was great & judging by how full it was other folks must think it is the place to eat. I left there grinning and looking for a place to take a nap. The service was also great....“
