“Had lunch at Maverick's Cafe on Taco Tuesday before heading out of town and overall it was a pretty solid stop.
Place was surprisingly quiet when we went in, only saw maybe one other customer the whole time, which was funny because we had driven by the night before and it looked pretty busy. Service was friendly though, and our server made sure to tell us about the Taco Tuesday specials, so we added a couple birria tacos to go with lunch. Glad we did. Those tacos were really good with plenty of flavor and a nice little kick from the salsa on the side.
The enchiladas and flautas were filling and came out hot. The white queso was definitely the better choice over the yellow queso in our opinion. Only thing that missed the mark for us was the salsa, which had more of a spaghetti sauce flavor than the traditional Mexican restaurant salsa we expected.
Other than that, food was good, prices were fair, and the service was attentive. If you’re in Eufaula and craving casual Mexican food, it’s worth stopping by and especially worth checking out the Taco Tuesday specials.“
