Lumber Shack Reviews
We ordered take out and got there before it was ready. So we had it fresh but when we got home with it, 8 mins later it was barely even warm. The chicken was not very good. Had no flavor and was chewy. Definitely not tender and juicy. One of the breasts didn’t taste right or smell right at all so that was a loss. The “sweet and creamy” coleslaw was anything but sweet and creamy. It was really peppery. Nothing sweet or creamy about it. The okra and fries were ok for slightly...read full review
I went here for dinner on a Saturday evening and ordered a patty melt. It was raw. Our server didn’t come by our table our entire meal so I never got the chance to get it fixed or order anything else. They were kind & comped my meal and offered us some free dessert but I didn’t wanna spend another hour in there waiting for a dry slice of cake. Probably the worst service I’ve ever experienced at a sit down restaurant.
horrible service, waited over an hour for food that never came

Lumber Shack is a large, casual restaurant located across from a park, popular with locals and event hosts. The venue features a rustic, shabby chic decor with taxidermy and fans to keep it cool. Inside, there are TVs and music, creating a relaxed atmosphere. The restaurant is known for its chicken, which is freshly fried, crispy on the outside, and moist inside, making it a favorite among guests. Sides like baked beans and fried okra are commonly ordered, though some reviews mention that the okra was slightly overcooked and the baked beans were very tasty. The mac and cheese can be mushy, and the broasted chicken is sometimes described as bland with dry innards. A Friday night catfish all-you-can-eat special is available, but some found the catfish breading tasteless and possibly frozen. The water quality at the restaurant has been noted as poor, with a chemical taste despite efforts to try it with and without ice. Service is generally friendly and efficient, with servers providing good attention and making guests feel welcomed. The restaurant is also a popular spot for parties and events, with smooth organization and positive experiences reported. Overall, Lumber Shack offers a fun, rustic dining experience with a focus on fried chicken and comfort food, though some aspects like water quality and certain menu items vary in quality.
