“hashbrowns and mashed potatoes were the worst weve ever had, completely unseasoned. hashbrowns were thick and not crispy, with the texture of campbells chicken noodle soup pasta. mashed potatoes just looked like a literal mashed potato with no cream or milk or seasoning. instant wouldve been better. the other food was decent or pretty good, with the pancakes especially standing out as thick and cakey and yummy. service was really good and restauraunt was nice. just dont order potatoes there.“

“Red Rooster in Oklahoma City is one of my new favorite spots, especially because they offer so many impressive gluten-free options—which is rare for comfort food. I was thrilled to find that they serve gluten-free versions of classics like chicken fried steak, fish and chips, and a fried chicken sandwich. It’s clear they put real effort into making gluten-free dishes that don’t taste like a compromise.

The fried chicken sandwich had a perfectly crispy coating and juicy chicken. The only thing I’d change is the amount of garlic—it was a little strong for my taste—but overall, the sandwich was still really flavorful and satisfying. The chicken fried steak was crispy, tender, and comforting in all the right ways, and the fish and chips were equally good with a nice light crunch.

The chai old fashioned was a standout cocktail—unique, smooth, and balanced, with that subtle spiced flavor that worked surprisingly well with bourbon. The atmosphere is warm and modern without feeling pretentious, and the service was friendly and attentive.

Overall, Red Rooster delivers creative comfort food that’s inclusive and delicious. I’ll definitely be back to try more gluten-free favorites and another round of that chai old fashioned.“

The staff for the most part provide excellent service and you can expect management to come around to your table at least once to perform a satisfaction check. You should never wait more than 5 minutes to be seated but it’s usually always quicker and more times than it it’s immediate seating. Tea is always fresh but be warned, the sweet tea is usually Extremely SWEET. It’s a chain restaurant with a local and usually dedicated following. Their breakfast skillets and omelets are the best. Depending on what meal you order, you will typically be offered a variety of bread to choose from.“

I found the staff and guests easy to speak to and met a bunch of nice people.Over several days I sampled all of the offerings on their Old Fashioned menu.
