Schlotzsky's Deli is a popular restaurant known for its good food and friendly service. Many customers appreciate the clean environment and the generally quick, attentive staff, especially at the drive-thru. The food is often described as above average for a chain, with some favorites including the calzones, particularly the chicken/bacon/ranch calzone and the Italian calzone, which are considered a good value compared to fast-food options. The baked potato soup receives high praise for its fresh, crispy bacon and delicious flavor.
However, there are recurring issues with inventory. Customers frequently find that the location is out of many items, such as chips and certain soups, only discovering this after paying for their orders. This problem seems to stem from management or supply ordering problems rather than staff performance. Some customers are frustrated by the limited vegetable options listed online and prefer to have all upgrade options clearly available.
The drive-thru experience varies; some find the service friendly but not always welcoming. Road construction nearby can also make getting in and out challenging, but this is outside the restaurant's control. Overall, Schlotzsky's Deli is enjoyed for its food quality and friendly service, despite ongoing supply and inventory challenges.
