5 Best Mexican Restaurants near Wister

“We were camping at Lake Wister State Park and we asked a local resident for recommendations on Mexican restaurants in the surrounding areas. He highly recommended Si Senor. We will certainly pass on this recommendation to anyone in the future. The food was excellent and the service was great! I got the chimichanga and my husband got a rice dish with meat, peppers, onions and tomatoes. Our food was hot and very good. If we are ever in this area again, we will definitely stop by and eat here again! Thanks Jerald for your recommendation!“

“My favorite Mexican food in Poteau by far. I've only gotten takeout out and have not eaten in the restaurant so I can't comment on the table service but they are gracious and helpful when ordering takeout in person. They don't charge extra for take-out like the other nearby Mexican place. Their menu prices are a little less and the food is definitely better, in my opinion.“

“Unlike the Heavener Runestone, El Celaya Mexican Restaurant is authentic. I would classify it as being on the TexMex end of the Mexican food spectrum. Chili gravy on the tamale and the enchiladas. Yellow cheese topped the taco and the enchiladas, that were both filled with zesty flavorful ground beef. It turned out to be a delicious find, making today's drive to Heavener on this beautiful fall day even better. The restaurant appears to be new and well maintained. Very clean inside. The restroom was not a typical small town grungy water closet. The service very good. There are other Mexican restaurants in Heavener, but I would be willing to bet you a cold beer El Celaya Mexican Restaurant is the best one!“
