A giant slab of pork shank is the protein hit I need after walking to this restaurant. A deep, colourful sear brings a delicious Maillard flavour that coats moist and tender meat fibres. The roasted potatoes also get the same treatment and will make you appreciate the invention of grilling.“

“Tucked away in a mainly auto shop industry plaza, but off a main road, so easy to access.

Initially ordered 2 Chicken Souvlaki meals, but switched to Dinner portions since I wanted more salad and also separate from the hot items.

The man taking my order was very friendly and patient.

The chicken itself was so juicy since it doesn't sit in a hotpan under a lamp! Rice and potatoes were seasoned well too.

The food was packaged well and cutlery, tzatziki, and olive oil came in a separate little package so that it wouldn't drop to the bottom of the bag.
Appreciated that the man brought the bag around so that I didn't have to reach over the counter. Also appreciated the hand-off as there was care in him holding the tied top and also the base of the bag.

Quite a few menu options, so I'll have to go back to try other items.“

If you're looking for a break from all that shopping then Yianni's Kitchen is a must.

Everything is cooked up fresh.

My good to favorite:

The potatoes that's swimming in that delicious juices with all those tasty herbs.

The beans so rich and buttery in that tangy tomato sauce.

The sausage delicious.

Whatever you pick to eat know that everything on the menu is completely delicious.

And the portions are huge! So if you come by for lunch don't worry about dinner because you'll finish the rest later on that day!

Also excellent customer service with a family oriented vibe.

“I have been to many greek restaurants in Toronto, but none are like Salonika restaurant. The flavours were true to northern Greece, and the hosts offered authentic, warm hospitality, a slice of home where you could hear greek spoken in a warm and friendly atmosphere. The food is delicious, we ordered many small dishes and had meze style dinner, and they delivered some of the best food we've had in the city. The melitzanosalata (eggplant salad) and tzatziki were absolute bangers, fresh and light. They also brought us pita bread and some crispy toasted greek bread coated with olive oil and herbs (ladoriganh). The fried calamari is the best in town in my experience, thin crispy rings, well seasoned and they felt light which means they were cooked to perfection. My personal favourite was the keftedakia, I cant believe how much it reminded me of home. I have no words, they were perfect. To top it all off, the karithopita was a perfect dessert to follow our dinner. Overall, I recommend Salonika to everyone who would a taste of Greece or just want good food and a warm, special experience in the heart of the Danfort“
