“Friendly service, delicious food. I ordered the Karaage in a waffle cup with a brown sugar shaken espresso latte - both exceeded my expectations, so yummy. And the service was amazing, we were even given bulldog themed activities to do while we waited.

“We noticed this place as we were eating on the top floor of a restaurant across the road, PJ Peking duck and as big lover of this since I was a child on a different continent, we decided to splash ourselves in chocolate and banana:
- excellent choice as you can never go wrong with it, unless you order their pack of 12 options and then you eat it in 3 days: they are not as great the 3rd day
- helpful people despite the queue and hot day
- very busy area packed with musicians and all kind of beggars, coming right in your face as if Covid happened 1 million years ago
- and yes, you need lots of water afterwards as they are so sweet“

“Forgot to take a picture before I chomped into a cookie lol. The lady there was really nice, unfortunately when I went they didn’t have any oatmeal raisin cookies or their brookies but no problem because the other cookies are still really tasty! My favourite out of the batch is the carrot & cream cheese one. The store is a bit small which isn’t an issue to me at all

Vegetarian options: They have an Apple crumble cookie which was vegan

“Very good DIY bbq place. We had the duck, pork belly and black pepper short rib for the meats. They were all very well marinated and tasty. They provide you with different sauces and raw garlic/jalapeno slices along side some kim chi and spicy pickled daikon. Will definitely be back.“

“I need to start by saying how great the staff are at Stray Dog. They're friendly and love craft beer. We talked about breweries in the Ottawa area worth visiting, even ones in the GTA where I'm originally from. So they know their stuff.

Which shows in the beer. I got a flight with some different options but the Shaggin Wagon was by far by favourite of the bunch. You get a good sized pour also for your flights which is great, and can get up to 6. Serving them in a muffin baking dish is genius.

They don't serve food, just snacks but on the website it says you could bring in outside food, which is nice because inside and outside are both nice. The patio isn't large but it makes the most of the space and inside certainly is nice and feels nice and open.

The location is in a commercial area so there is parking, but they don't seem to be open super late. Which is fine, this is a brewery to enjoy in the sunshine.“

“Out of all the Happy Goat locations I've been to in Ottawa, this is by far the best one. It looks weird from the outside, but the moment you open the doors to go in, it's super spacious, with great music and calming lights. Not as impressed with the tiramisu, which was an odd kind of foamy/gelatiny something. And they really need to get a handle on the amount of plastic waste - even the plastic forks were wrapped in plastic; each cake slice wrapped in plastic; plastic plastic plastic. At least find something biodegradable, there's things on the market now! I would definitely go again but I'd bring my own mug and fork.“

“My favourite local Chinese food place. Takeout/delivery only. Their open ended eggrolls are amazing. I usually get a combo plate and if indeed the veggies fresh and the rice delicious and the ribs meaty. I also really like their wonton soup. The combo plates are generous servings and they are fast and efficient. I often wish they were open later because I sonetunes crave their food after they're already closed.“

“First time in Ottawa and I discovered this bar via IG. I was there on a Monday night and the atmosphere was relaxing. Not sure what the band name is but they were awesome. I went back on Wednesday night and it wasn’t as nice regarding the music…it was quite “funeral-esque”. Still nice environment to sit and have a beer. Bartenders were friendly also.“

“We were seated indoors for dinner and very much enjoyed the duck confit, sweet potato fries, and steak sandwich, however, the soup of the day (cauliflower??) was not that memorable. Our food was a little slow to come out but not outrageously so. The atmosphere was quite lively, a nice energetic vibe but may not be the best for deep conversation or soft voices!

We briefly noted our reservation was for "anniversary" but didn't elaborate further, so we're actually indifferent about our occasion being missed/ignored, but I include this remark because it might matter to someone else.

The food is terrific, the draught beer is wonderful and if you have a need for Scotch, I’m sure they can find something to your liking. They also have live music (and sports on TV), if that’s your thing. We’ve been coming here for years. The staff, always friendly and accommodating, is really what keeps us coming back. We’ve always been well taken care of whenever we drop in.“
