The Cornerstone Reviews
i was looking for a good vegetarian snack and looked online and saw the restaurant had a vegetarian platter so decided to try it out.
The veggie platter had cucumbers, crostini, and tortilla chips with guacamole, spinach hummus and vegan queso. the guacamole and hummus was really good while the vegan queso tasted more like salsa versus queso. the chips also came out of a bag and would’ve been better if they were fresh. the crostini were alright with nice portion...read full review
Worth the maze of a construction 1000 times over, cornerstone is clearly a cultural hub of guelph, they have zines and posters that showcase the local talent and voices, they have staff who all participate in Guelph on multiple levels. Truly a staple in a community and 3rd spaces. And a needed one at that.
Place is a great spot to chill and have a cup of coffee, I like how they come in mason jars/glass if it’s order in! They’ve got books and sketchbooks to draw in, atmosphere is nice and sometimes they’ve got live music, great community! Baristas are always friendly.

The Cornerstone is a beloved spot for breakfast and brunch, offering vegetarian and vegan options, including the popular Huevos Rancheros. The restaurant is known for its amazing food and welcoming atmosphere, making it a great place for brunch, lunch, or to meet up with friends. While the kitchen can be slow during busy times, the impressive presentation and consistently good food make it a local gem. The Cornerstone also boasts a small but impressive beer selection and offers nut-free, gluten-free, and vegan options for those with dietary restrictions.
Customers have praised the tasty Tempeh Reuben and the delicious breakfast sandwiches, which are flavorful even for those who typically do not enjoy them. The restaurant can be busy on weekends, but it’s definitely worth the visit. Open mic nights and community events add to the charm, making it a great spot for the local community. With kind staff and a cozy atmosphere, The Cornerstone continues to be a cherished institution in Guelph.
