“Wonderfully cozy yet a light and airy atmosphere that is unique in a great way. I've been here a few times and the food is delicious. I tend to gravitate toward the roasted vegetables sandwich. For some reason it tastes better when it's eaten at Synonym rather than to go. But worry not because there's plenty of seating and the decor (especially of the barista counter) is perfection. Well worth a visit, you'll be glad you did!“

“We had family drop in around dinner time and wanted something quick and different than the regular go-to takeout. We picked up dinner at IOS, having never before tried it before. $30 per person for four could have comfortably fed eight people. Freshest, tastiest and most plentiful food ever. Meat was tender and juicy, salad crispy and the potatoes tasty and perfectly done. Our guests were very impressed and this restaurant will become our family favourite. Keep it up!“

“Nice atmosphere, with lovely outdoor seating on the second level for a cocktail. Our server, Lesley was phenomenal and the staff was welcoming and friendly. Drinks were very flavourful and the selection was different and vast. Try the Rhubarb Sour! Plating was outstanding, the food was served nice and hot…everything was so fresh! Portion sizes were healthy, so much so that we didn’t have room for dessert! We drove from Guelph and will definitely highly recommend this fabulous restaurant! Will be back in the very near future. Thank you for a terrific evening!“

“I randomly stopped by Aldershot on my way to London from Toronto. Decided to pay a visit to West Plains Bistro while I waited for my ride, my goodness the Burrata was amazing. I also had a Ceasar cocktail which definitely hit the spot. My server Dave was a wonderful person and he was so nice and held up a great conversation while I sat at the bar. Thank you so much for the amazing service and especially delicious food. Please keep the Burrata on your changing winter menu. I can't wait to come back and visit again.“

“Our work team had an amazing dinner here. They loved the food, ambience and service. Perfect for a business dinner. It was so easy to make reservations and I liked how Emma called to confirm. I called her the day of the dinner and she kindly adjusted the guest count right away and I got an open table confirmation. We can’t wait to come back and I want to take some family here too!“

“Beautiful restaurant. Awesome food. Flavor is spot on. Ribeye medium rare cooked perfectly. Great chimichurri sauce! Brussel sprouts side is very tasty. Truffle mashed unfortunately had no truffle flavor at all. Grilled calamari was cooked well and good flavoring on the sauces. Music is abit too loud we could barely hear the waiter and the choice of music don’t really suit the ambiance of the place (it went from dance to hip hop and then country music anything but dinner music) Service was great. Portion size was good.“

“We had travelled from Toronto for a beautiful date at a new restaurant try.
The restaurant is beautifully decorated and has a nice laid back upscale vibe, great choice of music to tie it all together.
The 4 dishes we tried included the Chicken Liver Brulee (signature dish), Beet Salad, Thai Stuffed Wings & Trout Marie Katherine. All the fishes were mind blowing with the different layers of flavor and contrast of texture.
The service was below subpar as it was mentioned that I had a lactose sensitivity but most dishes still had a dairy in them as the server mentioned the chef can make alternative substitutes. Also, we asked the server if we could get some extra bread and 10 minutes passed and nothing came out. So we reminded him again, it came out buttered and toasted sadly.
We definitely will come back for the food and hope to have better service then! We look forward to the summer menu, what date will that be released?“
