We went to Jack Astor’s and got served by Pat, and I can confidently say this was not a meal—it was a life-altering experience.

From the moment we sat down, Pat appeared like some kind of hospitality wizard. Waters filled before we even knew we were thirsty. Recommendations? Flawless. Timing? Surgical. Vibes? Immaculate. I’m pretty sure Pat could sense what we wanted to order before we did.

At one point I dropped a fry and I swear Pat was already there mid-air to save it. NASA should honestly be studying the reaction time.

The food was great—but let’s be clear: Pat was the main course.

If you go to Jack Astor’s and don’t get Pat as your server, respectfully, just leave and come back another day. It’s not worth settling for a lesser experience.

Pat didn’t just serve us dinner. Pat served excellence, charisma, and what I can only describe as a spiritual awakening.

10/10. 6 stars. Would request Pat at my wedding, my kid’s birthday, and possibly as a life coach.

“We went to Jack Astor's Richmond St last night for a girls get together/Christmas dinner. The restaurant was decorated to the max for Christmas. It made our get together that much more fun. The staff was awesome and my meal (chicken fried chicken from the specials menu) was outstanding. The other was on Wonderland near the high school in the south. Food and service was 5 star. The atmosphere I could not stand because of some entitled male high schooler making a huge scene. My burger was made exactly the way I wanted—with plenty of topping options and everything prepared right in front of me. “When I came into A&W, I was served by a girl named Shania, and her customer service was absolutely amazing. Even though the restaurant was busy, you would never know it—she stayed calm, friendly, and incredibly efficient the whole time.

“This has been one of my fav restaurants in London to eat at and I used to eat here once a week pre pandrmic. I don't know if its still the after effects or if there's new management or what but the last 3 times that we have come downtown to eat here, they've been closed. including today where my 9 year old son had planned our 'date night' for my Birthday. Plan was Jay Dee's for our all time FAV cheese sticks and my FAV TBurg followed up with a trip across the road to the Arcade. He even went online and tripled checked the hours to make sure it said open until 730 every day of the week. We arrived downtown around 630 and much to our disappointment AGAIN, the restaurant was CLOSED. So we had to change up our plans and eat across the road at the Arcade Bar. In my opinion you should somehow notify your customers on your website of early closures so they are aware prior to the trip downtown and paying for parking etc if applicable. The first 2 times this happened we had driven in from out of town to find out of the closures. So my rating is as follows, the food is AMAZING, the atmosphere was always welcoming and comfortable but the random hours are a serious issue. Such a shame to be honest. Not sure after 3 failed times in a row to be met with a closed restaurant that we will try again. I will always rav about the food though.“

“Very disappointing that the self-order stations are not fixed after many weeks. During busy times, customers have to wait in line to order with the person who is also making the food, delaying everything. This establishment is chronically under-staffed, even on a good day. This is also resulting in workers missing out on tips… you care about animals so should also care about paying your workers a living wage… your company is now a chain- I think you can afford it.“

The burgers are fresh the fries are just that fries - chip wagon style and fresh cut, you can add cajun if you want spice or have it on the side.
