“We drove from Waterloo to try out this hotpot cuz there’s no hotpot restaurant in Waterloo. I was so impressed by their crispy pork strips and the restaurant was decorated pretty well, exactly like those hotpot restaurants I visited in China, so that was good vibe“

“Fantastic dumplings and pot stickers and such a kind and generous proprietor. Truly a gem in the EOA neighbourhood.“
“Great Canadian Chinese food restaurant. Owner was very nice. Food was cooked fresh, fresh oil, fresh veggies. Probably one of the better if not the best Canadian Chinese food establishments we've been to.
We got the deluxe order for 2 with wonton soup. The wonton soup was ok, very fresh. The chicken balls and spring rolls were absolutely delicious. The friend rice was perfect, not overly salty as i find this dish can be but seasoned just enough. The fried shrimp was also delicious, fresh oil just makes a huge difference in a lot of the fried dishes. The beef and broccoli was excellent with the fried rice, the beef was so tender.
Whenever we're in the mood for chinese food again, we will for sure be coming back!“

“Great spot for traditional Chinese fare with generous portions. Very unique spot with lots of figurine decorations. We got the hot pot with udon and the beef noodles and both were very good. The food is well prepared and is really filling.
Parking: Lots of free parking in the plaza“

“My boys thoroughly enjoyed their meal. There was so much to choose from and we were well taken care of. They said they would rate it 99.99 out of 100 (only because there was no pasta lol)“

“Extremely Impressed! Lots of good food for your money. The previous restaurant I went to retired. So I had to find a new one. I wasn't disappointed! This is my new place now! Worth the drive across town. :)
Parking: Lots of parking and easy to access!“

“Awsome flavors. Great amount of food that fills me up (and I got an appetite) very friendly owners who make the food fresh. Ask for the coconut chicken curry it's bin my favorite for going on 12 years. They make it fresh everytime. Great prices. Not sky rocketed like other companies have“

“Extremely authentic Chinese street food. The food itself was good to very good; the environment is kind of utilitarian and not super comfortable as far as dining in. Maybe that's by design, as this place looks to be mostly doing take out and delivery.“

“This is one of a few authentic northern Chinese restaurants in London area. If you like to try what the real Chinese dishes taste like, this is one of the places you should not miss.
Good price range with big portions. Multiple options available.“

“Most enjoyable dinner. As everything has experienced inflation, this location has done a great job to mitigate the increases.
The won ton soup is excellent. The selection is actually quite exquisite.
This is a Chinese restaurant that is a test of times to keep the original Canadian/ Chinese options available. As we all know the cost of quality food is challenging. This restaurant does a great service to the community to provide quality for a fair price and is definitely the place to go for the ballance of quality for price. Personally I would pay more for a little more quality in the dishes like Cantonese chow main for a little more vegetables including water chestnuts but this is a simple ask for a restaurant that goes above and beyond literally any Chinese takeout in London ontario.
Thanks for a great quality Chinese option in London!!!“
“First time ordering from this establishment. I have to say it was very good. We had the following items.
Lemon Chicken
Beef Lo Mein
Beef and broccoli
Chicken with vegetables
Chicken balls sauce on side
Sweet and sour pork Chinese style
Hot and sour soup Medium (2 containers)
It was lots to eat. Fed 3 adults and 2 kids with plenty leftover for seconds and or left overs. We will be ordering from here again. Thank you for a great meal.“

“My fave is Singapore Beef and Beef Fried Rice .to help soak up that sauce.
The Original owner created a no MSG meal about 30 years ago. A surgeon asked and it became a thing. A big law firm lawyer used to drop in with him and over the years the entire menu became available without. A lot of deliveries to UH. Meds love the food.
This would be considered a reasonably priced spot to order good food. It is Canadianized Chinese food which I prefer. They can mess with the spices if you ask. I know what goes in some of the recipes including the trick with the rice to enhance .the flavour without using MSG. It increases the explosion of spices but not overpowering the taste.
Chicken Balls have always been cooked to have just enough breading to cover but not get in the way of that real piece of chicken.
The present owners, I believe, have owned since 2000 and have been very careful to copy the cooking style of the original owner.
This restaurants clientele has a disproportionately high number of doctors to other takeouts.. A lot of the rich in the North and West part of the city eat Wongs food.“

“One of the more decent meals in Little London. The environment and decoration are decent, the porridge is very good, and one portion is just right for two people. It would be nice if the tofu used for crab roe tofu was a bit tenderer, it tastes pretty good. Salt and pepper tiger prawns are delicious. I wanted to order typhoon shelter crabs, but they were told they were out of stock. Recommended the soft shell crab, which has no crab flavor and feels like fried tempura. The point is, the cooking method is almost the same as that of tiger prawns, allowing guests to eat two dishes with almost the same taste in one meal. This is probably not just a problem of the ordering staff, but also the management needs to be improved.“

“Great taste and big portions for the cost; my first visit ever (recommended by a friend) didn't disappoint even though my order came in 2 bags and I only saw one on the counter when I picked it up. When I got home, i was a bit annoyed because some of my order was missing but apparently they tried to contact me after I left (I never heard the call but I was driving so I couldn't pick up anyway) and I didn't discover the missing items until I got home; it was a dismal weather night but I went back to get the rest of my order; it was all there in the end but maybe in future they could staple the 2 bags together to ensure the 2nd one doesn't get missed. They said they pushed the much smaller 2nd bag towards me on the counter but the pickup space is tiny and I never saw the 2nd bag, only the big one in front. Again, if the staff member had said something I would have known to look for a 2nd bag. No big deal but it's the little things that count. The food and value were still worth it however... just make sure you pick up all of your bags the first time 😉“

“I really enjoyed my experience here! This is for sure a very underrated location in London downtown. Their food comes out fast and the service is great. The drinks are surprisingly very tasty too! Their menu is packed with lots of choices and cuisines, but I ordered mainly from the Chinese menu.“

“Ordered late at night, drove and picked up. We were greeted at the door by a very nice women. The breading on the chicken is amazing! I have had a lot of different Chinese food but nothing like this. Honestly better than KFC and Popeyes combined! The lemon sauce to go with it complimented the chicken very well. My kids that don't overly like Chinese food really enjoyed the chicken and sauce. The vegetable rice was delicious. As someone who doesn't like too much soya in my rice this was perfect. It had the flavor but it wasn't overpowering. I'm sorry other people had bad experiences, but I had a fantastic experience and will be definitely ordering again in the future. Also I find the prices to be very fair and the portions to be great as well.“

“I have been eating here since I was a child many years ago. Always a favorite. My go to for Chinese food. I always order something different to mix it up as it's all good food. However, they recently went to the meatless wonton, they are not as good as the ones before, now its just deep fried batter, no where near as good as with meat. But everything else is great. I recommend it always.“

“Food makes me never want to move away. The Kung Pao Chicken on rice is always made perfectly. I’ve never had chicken so tender. I share a bowl with my girlfriend so it’s $14 split between us. Really authentic (in my abc opinion). We’ve been coming here for 2 years but I always forget to take a picture when the food comes.Garlic Chinese broccoli, Mapo Tofu, signature rice noodle, and tea tree mushrooms (glossy ganoderma savoury pot) are also very good.“
“Thank you for the nice service and very delicious food 👌“

“Great tasting food for the prices! I'm not sure how they are surviving with these low prices but a combination plate is only $13 after tax, and the portion size and taste is definitely worth it!
The store itself operates as a takeout counter.“

“I love this type of Chinese food, and so does my daughter (who is very picky). The fried rice is delicious and I love the type of Eggrolls they have. The chicken balls are more chicken than breading, which I have a hard time finding these days. We got 5 dishes so we had leftovers for days! It’s always better the next day ?“

“Editing my review to update all here.
**Sign posted in store window that restaurant closing for retirement December 15th... 2024***
Been coming here about 27 years and always enjoyed my meal. I've met the owner on numerous occasions and he's simply the kindest, generous guy you'd ever meet.
Will be supporting Great Wall Chinese moving forward as both owners are family. Thank you Dragon Gate!“

“Great Canadian-Chinese food.
The building it is in is absolutely disgusting.
Between the car tires and rims and the absolute disarray of a building that is falling apart, I was shocked to taste how good the food was!
But honestly, I wouldn’t go back.
If the prices were reasonable, maybe, but I spent $30 a person for take out!
You CAN NOT eat there. It was a restaurant a long long long time ago, but now it is just a take out shell of a place to cook food.
I am a shocked the health department hasn’t shut them down.“
