“I have passed by so many on routes. But this one in Mallory town south side was a very happy place for me. A&w mama burger was too yum and fries were so fresh and hot. Will stop by again whenever in future I will pass from here.”

I watched one woman being nasty, because she wanted something different from what she ordered, and the young lady serving her was very pleasant, and kept a smile on her face the whole time. “While visiting beautiful Alexandria Bay, we stumbled upon Dark Island Spirits. Let me tell you, we were so glad that we did. The moment we stepped inside, we were greeted by friendly faces and knowledgeable staff who guided us on our tasting journey. We tried a few flights, and to be honest, we enjoyed every single tasting sample. We ended up leaving with a few bottles of the Eleanor Glen 1000 Islays - Peated American Single Malt Whiskey as well as a few bottles of the Mountain Strong - Corn whiskey aged in one of our used bourbon barrels. If you're in the area, I highly suggest stopping by and trying some amazing and unique spirits. UPDATE: 8/28/24 Stopped back in and got to meet Kelly and William. Both had an infectious energy and made our visit totally amazing. Can not recommend Dark Island enough. Try a flight or grab a drink and chill on the patio. Can't wait for our next visit.”

“I used to come here all the time as a kid when we visited family in Lansdowne. We were in the area over the weekend so we stopped in and it's even better than I remember. They changed the inside a lot since I had last been and it looks great. The restaurant itself is very clean too. Our server was very nice and the food was amazing. One of the best buffalo chicken wraps I've ever had.”

“We’re visiting in the offseason and after striking out at some of the restaurants in town, we came here more by default than anything, as we’re staying at the hotel. So I went in with pretty low expectations, which thankfully were well surpassed. Angie was the only server working the whole restaurant and she did so without breaking a sweat - a true pro. And our food was very good - my blackened mahi mahi was cooked perfectly. The prices were reasonable and the location couldn’t be beat as we were staying two floors above. A solid 5 star experience.”

“This little pub has been owned by the same family for 74 years . The owner is a musician and runs the bar like a music venue first . A music venue that happens to have 2 exceptional bars . Inside pub and an outside Tiki bar . Both bars have a stage and present outstanding live bands . NOTE * WE DID NOT OPEN THIS SUMMER (2020) It just wasn’t right . Wasn’t safe due to COVID-19 So we wait. I am painting and redecorating ,improving sound and lights and improving all the little thing that add up to an exciting reopening when the pandemic ends . I miss playing in the band with my friends in the Dog Bros.Band ! I miss our patrons . This little pub is like the family farm , so it will reopen when the laws allow .”

“Thank goodness for the internet! Or else we wouldn’t have known about this gem. It was lunchtime and the Foster Harbor Inn was only 2.4 miles away. Tucked in off the main road. Obviously know to the local clientele. Our waitress was very upbeat and personable. Generous portions on the shrimp and fried fish combos AND a hamburger that was actually prepared to MEDIUM! Three thumbs up !”

“Nice place, accommodating of families. That had indoor seating with window A/C. The food was good and at the price point I would expect in a tourist town during the summer. I found the service to be good. I recommend them and would definitely go back.”

“I had a mixed experience at Windows on the Bay. The biggest highlight is definitely the view, it's absolutely stunning. .
We had a bit of a delay when they couldn't find our dinner reservation on their list but the staff ended up handling it well and found us a great outdoor table. The service throughout the evening was friendly and pleasant, although it was very slow. Since it was a busy holiday, we understood and were happy to be patient.

Unfortunately, dinner itself was just okay. My meal was average, the fish was a bit overcooked and dry. The biggest disappointment was the music. There was a DJ when we arrived but they ended the music much earlier than expected, and once it stopped, the energy completely disappeared. It felt like the evening lost its momentum. However sitting outside overlooking the bay as the fireworks began over Boldt Castle on the Fourth of July ended up making for a perfect evening.

Breakfast the next morning was a completely different experience. It was quiet, peaceful, and relaxing, with beautiful views of the boats passing by on the bay. The food and atmosphere were much more enjoyable and made for a wonderful start to the day.”

“😊I have eaten here many times, especially summer and deep into fall. We bring family. We bring friends from out of state. We find the menu consistently creative, lots of choices, many things to like. Hard to pick a favorite, but like fish tacos and paninis, plus apps. Some of the desserts can be just awesome. I'll be there again at least several times this summer. Always find the people nice and welcoming. I have had lunch (mostly) and dinner, and even met for business of a non-profit there. It is a favorite place on the river.”
