I ordered the beef ho fun noodles and it is not good. Not much beef and the noodles kept breaking up. Other than that, lots of seating when I went at 2pm.
Can't believe this place has a relatively low rating I've been coming here for at least 15 years maybe closer to 20. Food is always served fresh tasty and a generous portion. No matter what I've tried it's always been well above average and sometimes borderline fantastic five stars for the famous Steven Yan.
There's something about a mediocre box of fried rice packed to the brim. Great value. Non-existent customer service. Insane amounts of MSG.

Yan Can Cook is a classic spot offering affordable and delicious food with a wide variety of dishes. The menu is very comprehensive with a number of offers displayed, and the prices are unbeatable. Visitors find the price reasonable, with options like a fake shark fin soup with fry noodle combo for $6.50, chow mein for $6, or a huge portion of ma po tofu for under $20. Portions are really big; three boxes of food costing $35 can feed five people. The sweet and sour chicken with rice was very nice, though a smallish portion with a lot of rice. The fake shark fin soup is reasonably good with the right texture, and the fry noodle still has a bit of the wok feel, chewy not soggy. The salt and pepper pork chop is tender and not very salty, and the dry-fried beef rice noodles have a wok-like flavor and are not greasy. The staff is kind, sweet, friendly, and efficient, with the cashier and floor staff keeping a smile on their face. For someone sensitive to MSG, it is really good to eat here.
