“Friends highly recommended us to try this restaurant, we made reservations last night.!When we entered the server said we have two hours for dinner. We ordered different kinds of food to try like deep fried pork belly (melted in your mouth, just the right temperature), unagi risotto (the texture is very rich, the risotto is different than the Italian style), tuna brioche ( once you start to bite there are so many flavors), baked oysters (must try, I like the creamy mixture), Napa burger sliders ( we saw so many tables ordered this plate, we also tried and found out it’s very tasty), ox tongue and honey bread with cream. We also Sangria and Peach flavor soju, both drinks are good. All dishes have distinct flavors and highly recommended to make reservations before you go for dinner.“

“The Izakaya skewers tasted incredibly fresh. I normally don’t enjoy eating some of the chicken gizzards and other organs because the texture is typically chewy or not something that I’m accustomed to but I accidentally ate it and the skewers were tender and seasoned perfectly. The chicken cartilage was still something that I had trouble getting used to but we pretty much ordered everything on the menu and the tongue, chicken wings, beef flank were worthy mentions and found everything was fantastic.“

“My wife and I enjoyed a lovely evening out. Sampled multiple items which were all incredible. Had Sake and never really wanted to leave. We walked in without reservations and were accommodated immediately. Serving staff were friendly and attentive. Overall a wonderful experience and we're looking forward to our next visit.“

“This place was very chill and the food was really good! Skewers were easy to share and tasty. My favourites may be the tamago and the salt chicken! The takoyaki was amazing.
The atmosphere is relaxing and beautiful, not what I expected. It didn't feel like a bar and it was very family friendly! Bathrooms were clean and I love the aesthetic!
Only issue would be that their prices are a little high but it's definitely worth going!“

“Every dish we tried we liked. Very comfortable setting. We couldn't tell if the Orion beer is real because they didn't open the bottles in front of us (as is normal for a bar in japan) but it did have a nice malt flavour so we think it's authentic 😆, the highball could be stronger. Would recommend, would return. Best dish for me was the hotate wasa“

“One of my favorite dining spots in Toronto. Great for small groups or date nights. Their dyno wings, miso steak, salmon aburi and miso icr-cream are highlights for me but to be honest everything I've had from the menu is delicious. Their cocktails are also on point!
The space is small and you can expect a wait list for a table on the weekends as they don't take reservations. But totally worth the wait and they have seating outside as well to accommodate those waiting.
If you are driving in on a weekend be wary that street parking is a bit difficult to find but that's Toronto on a typical weekend anyway. Come prepared to drive around a bit before you find a spot. The green P nearby gets full pretty quickly on the weekend as well.“

“Delicious food. I really like their takoyaki and chicken nanban. Their dishes and drinks are really unique. They also have a happy hour for $5 beer from 5:30-8pm sun-thurs. Staff is friendly and I would recommended making a reservation as well as they do get busy especially during weekends.“

“Mokutan is a cozy izakaya with a booth-style layout, creating a comfortable, intimate atmosphere. It has a very similar vibe and layout to the neighboring Anji Izakaya, but tends to be quieter. The oden soup with beef tendon was especially delicious, although the menu itself is somewhat limited. Parking spaces are also limited, so keep that in mind if you’re planning a visit.“
