“I got take out last night, rushing to eat before work (salad and chicken shawarma sandwich). It tasted odd... shortly after,, I called the location to tell them, something was off with the ingredients. I wasn't sure of it was the onions, turnips etc. something was left out too long perhaps... and today I am sick as a dog. I've eaten here before. I think they need better quality control on the food... especially being safely stored.. perhaps temperatures..etc“

“Great, familiar, cozy atmosphere. This place has one of the best chicken shawarma wraps (greek style) of the city, the juiciness of the meat, the spices, every bite is wonderful, the tahini sauce was great and the selection of toppings is more than enough.

“I had the lentil soup and döner plate. The soup was perfect and reminded me of home. The döner and white rice were tasty but a bit greasy for my liking. I would prefer less fat on the döner and less butter on the rice, but they were still balanced and enjoyable. They provided a generous amount of sides with both dishes and even offered a complimentary glass of tea. I'm looking forward to trying more dishes and exploring their butchery section as well. “I discovered Red and White when they first opened almost 20 years ago. Smart phones and google reviews werent even a thing lol. I lived in an apartment just down the street.. single guy so it was a quick fix for a great price.. feels like it was a different life lol.

The shawarma here, was hands down the best I've had in Toronto.. I think it was my first shawarma too.. this is the kind of meal you want and could eat daily. There was no getting tired of it, it was that good.

Since then, I've moved, had kids, started my own business.. i've had LOT'S of shawarma from all different restaurants from all nationalities hoping, praying even to find another shawarma that was close and ive had some almost as good, but I've yet to find a place that can put together such a delicious shawarma as you get here.

A lot has changed in almost two decades since I came across this place.. and as luck would have it, I was in the area the area this afternoon. imagine the excitement when I saw Red and White still there! It had changed owners though.. naturally I asked myself "will it be the same?" I rolled the dice, ordered a wrap with everything on it like i always did, and AMEN! I was a 20 year old again.. the nostalgia.. it brought back some great memories with just one bite.. if youre wondering.. YES it was just as good as the first time.. I just finished mine and I'm ready for another.. I don't know what they put in it, but it's DAMN DELICIOUS! If you're in the area, treat yourself. Great price for a big wrap, but all the plates are generous servings.

Disclaimer: you won't be able to enjoy a shawarma anywhere else after this. So be ready for that..

A way i like to describe dishes with this kind of flavour is to say "itll make your mouth orgasm" lol.. yeah. It's that good. Don't take my word for it. The worst that'll happen is you'll be disappointed.. that you didnt try this sooner or that Red and White isn't closer to your home.. I know I am ?‍?

You'll remember this review and thank me.. you'll thank yourself too for trying it, I'll bet on it.

“Asgar and team provide excellent food at a great value. The chicken dishes are made with the perfect amount of spices. The quantity of food is enough to feed two people per plate. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who enjoys great tasting food and great service“

He is understanding if you don’t know what you want, and will give you suggestions. The atmosphere feels very safe and welcoming.
