It reminds me of the small town bakery I used to go to as a kid. We had some scones, brownies, butter tarts (with/without raisins) and some chocolate croissants. While everything was fabulous, I have to give an honourable mention to the chocolate croissant. This place is a gem, and has an amazing history. I look forward to returning! Their history on the wall tells about their long journey to where they are now...“

“First visit on Friday did not disappoint. Needed some post competition treats (Ottawa Naturals) and Voila Gluten Free Bakeree was exactly what I was looking for. Picked up cookies, brownie, pop tarts, baguette, black forest cupcakes and cheese bread. Cookies were the perfect post show treat after a long day on stage and the remaining items have been so good ever since. Can't wait to get back to Ottawa and buy again.“

I'm happy to say that it was perfect for me. It's less sweet that the typical cookies from a supermarket. But it's not so low in sugars that it's diabetic friendly.“

“I ordered the Raspberry Rhubarb tort for a family celebration. Even though I am not typically a big fan of rhubarb, it was absolutely delicious. The crust was like shortbread and the flavour delicious. Be still my heart til the next opportunity to enjoy again!“

“It was my first time at this location and it was easy to find. Climbing up the stairs I noticed that there were no accessibility ramps. The staff at the front counter was very cheerful and friendly in her greeting and our conversation. She was helpful in explaining the variety of scones.
I came to purchase and leave however i did notice they had an eating area on the left side of the ordering and purchasing counter where one could order a scone sandwich and eat.
There were jams and jellies for purchase that the staff were sure to promote as well as pointing out the frozen scones in the freezer.
I went back the following morning to buy a variety of scones to take to a breakfast meet-up.

Wheelchair accessibility: This place is not wheelchair accessible. As a matter of fact I spoke to staff about that very subject. They have been there for 3 years. Enough time to address those accessibility concerns.“

“While the cupcakes were good, I picked up a half dozen of mini-cupcakes to go as they were for a toddler and the box given was large and didn't have any partitions or way to keep the mini-cupcakes from rolling around. When they were brought directly from the shop to my destination, the cupcakes had all kind of fallen over and the icings melded together. They tasted good, but the presentation was lacking - not that a toddler would care - but would recommend looking into at least smaller boxes with some kind of partition or selling the mini-cupcakes as a pre-made set to go so that presentation can be preserved.“

Their zaatar and veggie flatbreads are suitable for vegans as well so there are options for everyone. Really though, the best part of going here is the family that owns the restaurant. They are amazing people and so kind and generous. A delight to talk to. I have also never had food from here I didn’t love. If you are in the area I would definitely recommend stopping by to try their yummy food. Good for a meal or a snack!“
