“This was a highlight of our trip to Ottawa! It was difficult to find a good variety of gluten free options downtown. The Orange Turtle was amazing! They had multiple gluten free cookies to choose from as well as many other yummy gluten treats. The mango cranberry banana bread was delicious. The owner was very kind and friendly as we enjoyed chatting with him. The coffee was also very good. We will be going back here next time we are in Ottawa.“

The homemade seitan "pulled phork" sandwich is to die for. Love the mozza sandwich! The almond and chocolate croissants are out of this world. The Nanaimo bars are a real sweet treat, hard to pace myself lol. The smores brownie is my daughter's fave. I get to visit them every day before work and it's got me feeling so blessed🥰. “Some of the best croissants I’ve ever had. All of the people that work there are some of the nicest people. I don’t know what the low reviews claiming that the old man is rude are going on about. He’s the kindest man you’ll ever meet. He remembers me every time I go, and I’m far from a regular. He always remembers what I like!“

“The employees who work at this location are super friendly and positive. I love being greeted in super kind way. Some of the employees know my favorite scone and when they see me they ask if I want the regular. I appreciate this as I know they have a lot of customers. The cupcakes were great, very moist and tasty. The cocoa was also very good. We found the London Fog's brand of tea a bit bitter, but otherwise it was good.
The person that served us was friendly and efficient.
Bring cash for tips as their POS machine doesn't give that option.“

“This was my second time ordering a birthday cake from Chippers, and this time I went with the ube cake for my own birthday. The flavor, texture, and vibrant colour were all spot on — it tasted amazing and wasn’t overly sweet, which I really appreciated.

My only comment is that the buttercream frosting was a bit much for me, although others may enjoy a heavier frosting.

I also ordered the butter tart cookie and the oatmeal raisin cookie — zero regrets. Both were delicious and paired perfectly with a cup of tea.“

“Randomly came across Keerthi on Instagram and messaged her. From the moment we first started chatting, we just knew she had to be the one to make our wedding cake. Keerthi is such a kind, respectful, supportive woman and is incredibly talented. Her pricing is great, her cake flavour combinations are delicious, she makes the best bento sized sample cakes (large enough for the whole family to do the tasting with you) and is an effective communicator. We chose a two tier cake and she knocked the look and flavours of each tier out of the park. We would definitely contact her again for future events. Picked up cookies, brownie, pop tarts, baguette, black forest cupcakes and cheese bread. “My dad and I visited Manotick for a day trip from Ottawa and stopped here for the first time. The gentleman (owner) was extremely friendly and pleasant to chat with, and when he found out we were first timers he offered us a little freebie which was a wonderful surprise. You could really tell he was just oozing pride in his creations, from which there were many to choose. We purchased some gingerbread and several buttertarts, including a brand new pineapple flavour- the very first batch they'd attempted, fresh out of the oven. My go-to is their Wonton soup! It's so yummy and filling! I live in the east end but my offices are only a 10-minute walk from their location, so i was worried that the pandemic might force them to close but luckily, they are still the best hidden gem on Bank Street! “A hidden gem! Don't let the size of this place fool you, the flavours are BIG and it is one of the best bakeries in Ottawa.
There is so much to like about this place, their breakfast croissant sandwiches are one of the top favorites in Ottawa. The lunch pizza focaccia are to die for with usually 3 options, a vegetarian, meat and a vegan choice - my favorite is the vegetarian.
And don't get me started on the scones and sweets, we haven't had one yet that we were disappointed with. My favorite is the Apple Granola Scone.“
