“Came for an anniversary dinner and definitely didn’t leave disappointed. Good service, nice atmosphere and even better food.

We tried the soubise, celeriac salad, creton croquettes, mushroom dish and the whole sea bass. That sea bass was the star of the show by far! Perfectly crispy skin with tender fish and a fantastic sauce. I would go back just for the fish alone! Definitely can’t skip on this dish if you go.“

“This is by far the most modern shawarma place I have seen in Ottawa. They have many new concepts of shawarma and they don’t make it boring anymore. Their tacowarma (taco shawarma) is deliciousssssss. I definitely think you should go and try them out!!“

“We received a gift card from a family member for $100 USD as a Christmas Present and were excited about enjoying a meal at this restaurant. The gift card was purchased directly from Joey's, not a 3rd party. We went and everything initially about the restaurant was very enjoyable. The food was very good, the service was attentive and we enjoyed our experience until the cheque arrived. When we we presented the gift card (electronically) our server went to speak with a ⁶manager and then returned to inform us that the $100 USD would be honoured in Canadian dollars. $100 USD is worth $144.50 Canadian dollars according to google when checked today. We paid the bill and tipped the service team 22% and left after effectively having $44.50 taken from us and our family member in what felt like to us, theft by conversion. The manager in question did not come to follow up after our expressing our disappointment JOEY's is already a very expensive restaurant. Further, the gift card information indicates that Joey's has US based restaurants. I'm quite sure that Canadian dollar gift cards are not accepted at par in the US. This ruined for us, what was otherwise a positive experience, through what felt like to us, an act of corporate greed and impersonal profiteering. After this experience we will not be back and sadly, I cannot recommend JOEY's as a place for anyone else to dine at. Any company that sells a gift card directly and then fails to deliver full value is patently dishonest, in my opinion.“

“Food was very good. I had the beet, apple and ginger soup, arancini and tres leche tiramisu. All dishes I would order again. My dining mates had the short rib and the duck - both great as well. Service was very good. My only comment would be the side order of bread was okay.“

Was working an event and just watching the beautiful dishes coming out was scrumptious enough. Everything looked like they were right off a magazine cover.

“The food was hot and fresh.
Waitress didn’t bother to bring items she said she would. Specifically requested an orange slice for my grandson, never arrived. Promised me cotton candy at the end of my meal. Never arrived. Went to pay because after 5 minutes of us all standing up and packing up the baby, still has to go inside to pay. That’s when my friend slipped on butter from a a knife that was on the floor, staff reaction was oh. And looked the other way!
Still after standing in front of my waitress ( the one who couldn’t care less about the accident the orange, and the cotton candy. Why would she care about my friend almost breaking her neck on a knife that was sitting on the floor ( I picked up their dirty knife) in between her at the cash and her coworker eating food at the table in between us then whoever the manager or the gentleman that seem to be working that day also said he was gonna go back and get me some cotton candy and never bothered to bring it out. Finally, we just walked away will never be back but hey, the food was good. Yes, I still tipped them. I shouldn’t have, but I did.“

“AMAZING WEDDING CATERING! We are just back from our honeymoon in Nassau, and as we organize our new lives as Mr and Mrs, we can't stop talking about what the Royals Restaurant did at our wedding. That evening, the chatter was surely talking about the food. And guests are still talking about it. The meals were outstanding. The Pesto Chicken with Roasted Red Peppers & Goat Cheese, the Roasted Sirloin with Yorkshire Pudding, the hors d'oeuvres, just to recap a few.... were thoroughly enjoyed. With Chef Derrick carving the beef, he definitely finished off the buffet line in style. Plates were full, and then enjoyed by each guest. The flavours were simply succulent. But it was not just about the food. Melissa and Lindsay were at the venue far before the guests arrived. The place settings were precisely arranged ensuring that everything was lined up. The stemware and cutlery were perfect. Their management of the setup was amazing. The staff supported all the guests so professionally. A big thank you to Melanie, for operating the bar with class. To all the staff in the background, our sincere thank you as well. From the first minute that the catering trailer showed up, to the last minute when Melissa & Lindsay left at 1:00am... we were thrilled that the Royals Restaurant were a part of our wedding day. “Nice place, food was good. Unfortunately, it was ruined by the waiter who 1st brought food with no drinks nor cutlery, 2nd pushed to know if we needed change when we paid and 3rd got upset by the tip of 10% which was too much considering his lack of service.

“Some of the best food I’ve ever eaten in my life and I’m not kidding. The chef Arup Jana made an off-menu item for us because it was so good I’d contacted him about it (roasted carrot and brie soup, created for a charity event I attended last month). We had soup at the restaurant and also bought several more servings as takeout to bring home. We also tried about seven of their tapas plates and every single one was incredible. Please go to this restaurant.“

The mixologist really knows what she’s doing with the handcrafted cocktails and each drink was served in just the perfect glass. Charcuterie and mezze platters were unique and delicious. “We visited Daly’s for the breakfast buffet for my daughter’s 9th birthday. Andrea and Katelyn were so so kind and so friendly. They were so welcoming and they truly made our day. “One of the best pizzas I’ve had in our neighbourhood.

The guy at the counter was pleasant to chat with and recommended the right pizza for us. We were in the mood to have a spicy pizza and the tandoori chicken pizza was a perfect match.

I wish I had taken a picture but the pizza was put together very nicely. The base was crunchy and pizza was surprisingly fresh, well-balanced and delicious even though we had it after a short gap.

I generally choose to build my own pizza, but this restaurant has many interesting combinations to choose from. I will be sure to try more options in the future.“

“Our reservation was ready when our group arrived. The hostess and server were very professional and helpful. The item I chose, a Pork Chop in a wine sauce was excellent. My friend's "ribs" were also excellent. The restaurant filled up, and we were there for three hours but were never rushed to finish and leave. Thanks to all of the staff!“

“Visited Montana's 13th November 2022 with a group of 7 other people. The atmosphere was good, enjoyed pre-dinner drinks and conversation, followed by our server taking our meal order. She was very efficient and ensured all our needs were met. The order took longer than expected to arrive, and when it did, the food was just warm. We explained to the server who was apologetic, the food was heated to our satisfaction, and enjoyed by all. We were visited by the Manager In order to make sure everything was to our satisfaction, following the issue we had experienced. She very kindly told us she was giving us a reduction on the total price as a sign of goodwill, and also provided free dessert for the group. I would say that was an excellent show of hospitality on the part of Montana's, and we will definitely be arranging future visits.“

“We are so happy we chose Lago as our wedding venue! The process leading up to our wedding was very seamless and communication was great. Gyneya and the kitchen staff incorporated our food preferences in preparing the meals and our guests all agreed the food was very flavourful and well prepared! On the day of, our schedule was thrown off by a few things and the team at Lago really worked with us to ensure everything ran smoothly in the end. Kailee, Kim and Gyneya were all great to work with and very accommodating. The views also made for the perfect backdrop for our wedding photos. One thing I’d note is use of the elevator may not be possible as the elevator is operated by the building so it can sometimes be out of service. This was a small inconvenience on the day since many of our guests wore heels but we were made aware of this being a possibility far in advance. Luckily we did not have guests with major mobility issues but if you are booking the room on top and you do have guests who may struggle with the stairs, this is something to consider. Overall, I would definitely recommend this venue to others.“
