“We were visiting Ottawa and we found this little place. Absolutely beautiful!
Food was delicious: we got the poached pear salad with an amazing cheese croquette! The sirloin and the tartare. Absolutely fantastic!

“We received a gift card from a family member for $100 USD as a Christmas Present and were excited about enjoying a meal at this restaurant. The gift card was purchased directly from Joey's, not a 3rd party. We went and everything initially about the restaurant was very enjoyable. The food was very good, the service was attentive and we enjoyed our experience until the cheque arrived. When we we presented the gift card (electronically) our server went to speak with a ⁶manager and then returned to inform us that the $100 USD would be honoured in Canadian dollars. $100 USD is worth $144.50 Canadian dollars according to google when checked today. We paid the bill and tipped the service team 22% and left after effectively having $44.50 taken from us and our family member in what felt like to us, theft by conversion. The manager in question did not come to follow up after our expressing our disappointment JOEY's is already a very expensive restaurant. Further, the gift card information indicates that Joey's has US based restaurants. I'm quite sure that Canadian dollar gift cards are not accepted at par in the US. This ruined for us, what was otherwise a positive experience, through what felt like to us, an act of corporate greed and impersonal profiteering. After this experience we will not be back and sadly, I cannot recommend JOEY's as a place for anyone else to dine at. Any company that sells a gift card directly and then fails to deliver full value is patently dishonest, in my opinion.“

“The food was hot and fresh.
Waitress didn’t bother to bring items she said she would. Specifically requested an orange slice for my grandson, never arrived. Promised me cotton candy at the end of my meal. Never arrived. Went to pay because after 5 minutes of us all standing up and packing up the baby, still has to go inside to pay. That’s when my friend slipped on butter from a a knife that was on the floor, staff reaction was oh. And looked the other way!
Still after standing in front of my waitress ( the one who couldn’t care less about the accident the orange, and the cotton candy. Why would she care about my friend almost breaking her neck on a knife that was sitting on the floor ( I picked up their dirty knife) in between her at the cash and her coworker eating food at the table in between us then whoever the manager or the gentleman that seem to be working that day also said he was gonna go back and get me some cotton candy and never bothered to bring it out. Finally, we just walked away will never be back but hey, the food was good. Yes, I still tipped them. I shouldn’t have, but I did.“

“AMAZING WEDDING CATERING! We are just back from our honeymoon in Nassau, and as we organize our new lives as Mr and Mrs, we can't stop talking about what the Royals Restaurant did at our wedding. That evening, the chatter was surely talking about the food. And guests are still talking about it. The meals were outstanding. The Pesto Chicken with Roasted Red Peppers & Goat Cheese, the Roasted Sirloin with Yorkshire Pudding, the hors d'oeuvres, just to recap a few.... were thoroughly enjoyed. With Chef Derrick carving the beef, he definitely finished off the buffet line in style. Plates were full, and then enjoyed by each guest. The flavours were simply succulent. But it was not just about the food. Melissa and Lindsay were at the venue far before the guests arrived. The place settings were precisely arranged ensuring that everything was lined up. The stemware and cutlery were perfect. Their management of the setup was amazing. The staff supported all the guests so professionally. A big thank you to Melanie, for operating the bar with class. To all the staff in the background, our sincere thank you as well. From the first minute that the catering trailer showed up, to the last minute when Melissa & Lindsay left at 1:00am... we were thrilled that the Royals Restaurant were a part of our wedding day. “Some of the best food I’ve ever eaten in my life and I’m not kidding. The chef Arup Jana made an off-menu item for us because it was so good I’d contacted him about it (roasted carrot and brie soup, created for a charity event I attended last month). We had soup at the restaurant and also bought several more servings as takeout to bring home. We also tried about seven of their tapas plates and every single one was incredible. Please go to this restaurant.“

“Came here for breakfast every morning during my stay at the Westin. Only got the buffet on the last day, and it is definitely the most value. They have a nice selection of different breakfast items at the buffet and they are all well made and taste delicious. All of the a la carte items are also good, but portions are on the smaller side. “This is not your typical burger joint. Although I am sure they serve a fantastic burger I have yet to try them. However, I have tried the fish and chips which are fantastic. The serving portion of the 2 piece fish and chips could feed two people depending upon your appetite.
My wife and I have also had their fish taco as well which was also great. But my favourite appetizers has to be the calamari rings which are extremely tender and crisp. I also love equally as well the mussels in wine & garlic sauce. The mussels are delicious with the right amount of garlic as not to overpower the mussels.
We have been to Kelly's Landings for lunch several times but have yet to make it for dinner. This is where the view from the patio lends itself well with the meal, enhancing the experience to its full potential. On a warm sunny day you could catch a boat or two going by or just watch the world go by without a word. This view makes the meal the full package along with the service depending on which wait staff you happen to get. I have had over the top wait staff while some have been OK. But none has ever been poor. I make this distinction because the service, I also count as part of my overall experience. Especially, when all food service industries are now requesting a starting tip range of 15% and up. I will not just give you this requested tip because you brought my food to me. I look to enhance my dining experience by getting service worthy of the requested tip otherwise the overall meal is diminished. My one issue would be because this location is so busy you get some individuals that tend to want everyone in the resturant to be in on their conversation. Making it difficult to converse at a normal conversation level at your own table. I don't understand this phenomenon of yelling at the people across the table from you?
With all that said I would definitely recommend Kelly's Landing.“
