“We come to Maria’s whenever we’re headed to Lexington for a day trip. Today was no different! However, it’s our first time with our youngest. He’s newly one and definitely has a voice! As any baby, his voice cannot be tamed nor controlled because we’re in a public setting. While waiting for our breakfast, he started to get loud and antsy - probably hungry since we already drove an hour from home. A gentleman at the restaurant was simply not okay with the noises and very loudly and abruptly yelled for us to quiet him down. The entire restaurant fell silent. Everyone looking over at us but with complete sympathy, reassuring us he’s just a baby and there’s not much we can. And how appalled they are someone would ever make a comment. Still continuing to try and keep his voice down with anything on the table that I possibly can, he yelled again. & the man a second time, yelled “QUIET!!” At this point, I of course broke down. I’ve never been out in public and someone yelled at me to get my 1 year old to stop making noise. I’m also not a parent who doesn’t care and let’s their kids do whatever. We were trying all we could because we also are respectful of others dining. This is where I need to say how much I appreciate the staff and Maria herself. All the employees were coming up to me, giving me a hug. Trying to console me. Brought suckers for my boys. Maria wouldn’t even let us pay for breakfast, which we wouldn’t let but she insisted! People at other tables were coming up and talking to us and letting us know how unnecessary the comments were. To Maria, staff and all the people who showed us kindness, thank you. Thank you for understanding. Thank you for letting me know you’ve all been through it at some point. Thank you for reminding me that a baby is a baby. Your kindness will never be forgotten. “The Grind catered our wedding 2 weeks ago. Melissa was so easy to work with from the very beginning. From the taste testing, menu planning and day of service, everything was perfect. The meal was absolutely divine. Our guests are still complimenting and raving about the food. The service was spectacular and so on point. The two lovely waitress were calm and so lovely. We did not need to ask for a thing. Timing was perfectly executed. Thank you Melissa and team for being such an important part of our wedding. A day we will never forget.“

“We hosted our baby shower at Kate’s this past weekend and couldn’t be happier with how the day went! All of our guests raved about the food, the set up was so cute and Kate and her staff did an amazing job setting everything up for us. 10/10 recommend! ❤️“

“Such a cute spot! Just popped in for a coffee, but was too tempted by the rest of the menu not to try the smoothie and cheese scone. I also bought the most heavenly scented soy candle that came with a great review from another customer, and a gorgeous doggie cupcake (which I forgot, and the lovely cashier ran out in the rain to catch me).Amazing customer service. Amazing food. Amazing coffee. Looks like they do so much more! If I'm ever back in point Edward, I'll be popping in for high tea for sure!
Vegetarian options: As a vegetarian I was pleased by the selection of vegetarian options.
Dietary restrictions: This is going to sound weird, but my dog developed a lot of weird allergies in the last few years (started losing his fur and not eating) and the waitress carefully reviewed the ingredients with me to try to prevent a reaction. So far so good!“
