Good delicious roast duck and potj barbecue fast and efficient services and lots of vegetables
Friendly staff
Good value overall, but there are a few things that could be better. They charge extra for the roast duck, and in my opinion, the food is not as good as their First Markham Place location.
The roast pork skin wasn’t crispy, and the BBQ pork tastes quite different from the usual style I’m used to. There’s also almost always a long line. The cashier could be friendlier and provide better customer service.

New Sun B.B.Q. is a Scarborough restaurant known for incredible value and generous portions. For just $6, customers receive a massive box of BBQ rice with meat, fragrant rice, and even soup, making it an absolute steal in 2025. The $6 tax included roasted pork with rice and soy milk is an incredible value meal, and the $5 sweet and sour pork is also a steal. The food is tasty, with proper old-school Hong Kong style portions that leave diners full and happy. The ladies manning the cash register are very friendly and, despite being busy, make customers feel valued. Service is efficient and quick even with a lineup. Popular menu items include roasted pork with crispy skin, though the meat can lack seasoning. The BBQ pork has a nice honey glaze texture and flavour that is on point. Roasted duck offers nice BBQ flavour with addictive skin, and for best value, a whole order of roasted duck on rice is recommended. Meals come with a choice of soup or soy bean milk, with the soy milk recommended over the watered-down soup. Yu Choy vegetables are served on steamed rice with sauce. Some reviewers found the roasted pork missed the mark, but overall the food is tasty and the whole roasted golden medium pig is described as super delicious and an unforgettable experience.
